  1. One more point -- of course, dumping a beer on someone is unacceptable and calling them out as a boor is perfectly acceptable. It's also obvious. What else is unacceptable is telling some in front of you who is rocking out to sit down so you can soak up every tiny nuance. That's also interfering woth someone else's experience. Tit for tat, and all that.
  2. Sorry, I'm singing along. No, spilling drinks and invading space isn't cool, but if you don't want people to loudly sing, then go to see some chamber music. I think an awful lot of Rush fans treat the show as something more than a good time rock show. It's not a religious experience, except for those on psychotropic drugs. Which I wasn't, this time.
  3. Anyone offended by drunken revelry at a rock concert is misguided. You're not attending Mass or a Broadway show. It's f***ing rock and roll at the end of the day.
  4. Middletown Dream was easily the weakest song of the set. Went over like an anvil thrown to a drowning man.
  5. Loved the strings. Really great on YYZ.
  6. I was a setlist skeptic, but this show was magnificent. My uncle and I both agreed it was one of Rush's best performances that we've seen. Force Ten was phenomenal, as was Grand Designs, and all of the new album sounded sublime. Helluva great show. And let me applaud you, St. Louis. You came out in force. Very, very big crowd, the biggest I've seen in St. Louis since the GUP tour.
  7. Just had a sublime moment: The guns replaced the plow Facades are tarnished now The principles have been betrayed... Killer. Also, too, the rhythm on A Passage to Bangkok. Yes, i'm groovin' on ESL.
  8. QUOTE (drgrendel @ Sep 18 2012, 03:58 PM) QUOTE (moedrabowsky @ Sep 18 2012, 04:26 PM) Thread is not any more useless than ones telling us that 85 percent of TRF users like the setlist. Crumble that one up and throw it in the "No shit" file. Evidently, it's very important for some Rush fans to point to a poll on a Rush freak forum to prove they are "right" about the setlist being the greatest thing in the history of things. Reactions to the set are subjective. If you liked it, great. That doesn't mean that someone who did not -- and who saw a whole lot of people grumbling -- is not "wrong." We now return to your regularly-scheduled circle jerk. Rational thinking is still alive today....... Thanks! Nice to see some kindred spirits.

  10. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Sep 18 2012, 02:46 PM) QUOTE (moedrabowsky @ Sep 18 2012, 02:43 PM) Since it's not "force feeding" would they have played something else had they been asked? Semantic hairsplitting. Silly even for this thread. Nobody is making someone buy a ticket to be forcefed synth era stuff...pretty sure everyone is buying tickets willfully. Is that semantical? No, it's a non-sequitur.

  12. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Sep 17 2012, 03:54 PM) QUOTE (moedrabowsky @ Sep 17 2012, 09:52 AM) Criticism of Rush is not a direct reflection on you. And if you feel that it is, please seek some form of mental healthcare, because you're a f***ing goob. The post proves nothing other than the whiners are a wee minority and will say really hateful or mean stuff. I know its not a reflection on me, it's on the poster. Oh, and there is only one Goob--the philospical Demi-God of the Rush Forum--Rushgoober "mean?" Good stuff.
