  1. NONE FROM THE SECOND SET, IF THE GODS BE PLEASED! (except maybe TSOR) TSOR alternating with Limelight? We can dig it.

  3. For the newbies around here: avoid setlist fm, at least for Rush, and certainly during the show (if you're not attending). Go with Rush is a Band.
  4. Given the drum solo, I think Cygnus is one of the few songs that won't be rotated at all. BUT HEY GARDEN ROAD QUOTE SO WHO THE **** KNOWS ANYMORE?
  5. I am really hoping that they DON'T go with an A/B rotation. Just play the alts semi-randomly, depending on how they feel. More fun that way.
  6. Not to be a jerk or anything, but could we try not embed all the video on one page? /sorryijusthavea****ycomputer
  7. Worth price of admission ALONE. Still can't comprehend the complaints.
  8. http://www.rushisaband.com/blog/2015/05/08/4336/Rush-R40-Live-tour-opening-night-in-Tulsa-open-thread-and-LIVE-setlist-SPOILERS I'll be following that.
  9. It might not be as bad as you think, if they do it right.
  10. My own theory is that It's all of Spirit, cutting right into the PW section of NS on the last note, and then Closer to the Heart starting during the crashing waves at the end of NS.
  11. I would propose that you hold off any conclusions until the first show is played in its entirety. And, to be honest, notions like "But they just played The Camera Eye four years ago!" might show that you are overthinking this a bit, perhaps? They certainly don't need a video to play Finding My Way, In The Mood or Working Man. Aside from Anthem and the sections I and II from By-Tor, what else are they gonna play off FBN? The title track they already sold off to a car commercial? Do they need video to play any of Bastille Day or parts of the CoS epics? CTTH and Xanadu and instrumental sections of Cygnus X-1 are all we are going to get off AFTK. They soundchecked that title track almost 10 years ago and it didn't work, no reason to think it would work now. As far as Hemispheres, methinks people need to let the notion of a complete Side One go. HE CAN'T SING LIKE THAT ANYMORE. Folks keep pointing to remarks made by the boys as far as deep cuts. Geddy has also said several times that he wishes he could accommodate the fans, but he has gone back and listened to material from the 70s and said "I'm not singing that!" They do what they want to do and play what they want to play. 41 years now, you know. Expecting anything different at this point is a guaranteed disappointment. Right on sir.
  12. Freewill will probably be rotated, at best. Too rough on Ged's voice....
  13. T&M and Driven are the only ones that ever make it into my random'd playlists at work...
  14. Really can't wait for this thing to finally start and all this speculation can end… so there are like 10 set lists? with a lot of rotation. that will get the diehards excited, maybe Roll the Bones gets played every 3rd show, and if you hate it like many do you may be lucky and get to avoid it? Heres hoping it just gets dropped completely after a few dates.
  15. Lets hope people don't start listing the set variants in the way PowerWindows.net listed them during the CA tour (A,B, A2, B3, A2^2, B2^3). That was really confusing.
  16. Yeah if thats where they are going it will be interesting to see how they go from TSOR into NS without leaving anything great really out thus alienating anyone who wasn't seriously annoyed by Xanadu>Superconductor. Think TSOR>Tom Sawyer, from the Signals tour. EDIT: https://youtu.be/VlD1D-BBnwM?t=4m40s
  17. Also, ruminating on the Garden. As I said, this is pretty much their most favourtist song they'd ever ever done like ever. Would they really skip it, and play The Anarchist and The Wreckers instead? So, if it has no video (and from the looks of it, the credits include all video productions, including recycled ones), how would they go about playing it? My guess: Unplugged! (think Resist) Still trying to figure out how that might work, but probably would turn out very well.
  18. So, I've put some thought into it, and I think I know what the TSOR/Nat Sci/CTTH is about. It's not a medley per se, as in they play only snippits of each of them. They just play them all as one continuous unit, no real break. Most likely, they play TSOR normally. No way they will skip any part of the biggest crown pleaser and audience clap along they have. At the end, no earlier than the guitar solo, but most likely one of the last notes, they jump cut (sorry guys, I'm musically illiterate, bear with me) right into Natural Science. Most likely they go right into the later part of hyperspace, or just right into Permanant Waves. The Permanant waves section actually makes alot of sense, crowd mood wise. Finally, at the end of Nat Sci, during the waves crashing sound effect, they do an instrument switch and begin CTTH. Again, very hard to see them cutting up such a major crowd pleaser. Just my guess really, and it's still really hard to tell where exactly the transitions would be, but it makes tons of sense. Also, if this is so, my guess is that this would be the encore, or at least very late in the show.
