  1. Man, I don't know what it is, but almost ALL of Clockwork Angels is in my probably top 20 songs. It is honestly impossible to pick one. Cause then I'll go on a power windows spree, and then jump into some Counterparts, and then I'll feel bad for ignoring the 70's and go on a farewell to kings binge, its all just too much. lol.
  2. I totally agree about Geddy's voice! I was blown away after the first set when I realized that there were absolutely NO cringing moments at all. And then during the 2nd set, all of the clockwork angels material was just stellar, vocal wise. The Wreckers, The verses in the Anarchist (talk about power), the long sustained yells in Headlong Flight, even all of 7COG, just spot on perfect! The ONLY place in which I could tell he was straining, was pulling the opening line of The Spirit of Radio out. I was in pure awe. From what I'd heard on youtube, I figured that his voice would only hold up for mayyyyyybe one more tour, but after Sunday night I can honestly say I think he's got plenty more in him. Alex was in top form, best performance I've seen from him, out of my 4 shows. The end of Bravado, in particular, was better than any of the live DVD ending solo's I've seen. And that solo section on Where's my thing is becoming like a mini Freewill, what with all 3 of them just going absolutely bonkers over that synth line. Of course, The Analog Kid was a crowd favorite. Where Alex really shined was the CA material though, it looks like he's completely got those 9 songs down now, in terms of choreography with his effect, what he has to trigger, and the parts he has to play. I've seen him look a bit stiff on the earlier shows of the tour, but you can really tell he's completely comfortable with the new material now, to the fact that he was running all over the stage, pestering geddy when ged was trying to sing, and still making it back to switch lines for his solos. And what solos they were! Caravan was a complete shredfest, Clockwork Angels just soared over the rest of the band (he made some really great changes that I thought were genius). The Anarchist was almost exactly to the studio version, but as badass as that solo is, it doesn't really need to change. The Wreckers was his top solo of the night. Sabrina had no idea he solo'd at the end (she is a HUGE alex girl, and loves the wreckers), so when he started shredding, she lost it lol. Headlong Flight will become a concert staple due to the in your face guitar work, and the all around power. The solo in The Garden brought me to tears, such a beautiful compilation of wandering lines. Oh, and the shredding at the end of 2112 made up for the fact that none of the lights except the spotlights worked for Grand Finale haha. NEIL! Neil was as loose and smiley as I'd ever seen him! Granted, he made a few more mistakes because of this, but it is so great to see him having real FUN. Joking with Alex, making faces at Geddy, talking to the string section in between songs, he smiled a LOT! Him and Gump had some kind of joke going in Territories, in the middle of the song Neil threw a stick at him and turned around laughing so hard, and was constantly turning around laughing. It was a real treat to see. And let's face it, a few mistakes for Neil is still miles above anyone else's performance. The solos's were all sublime, the one in Where's my thing was ridiculous. I have no idea how he can still play with so much power during the Latin rhythm section, it's just crazy. Still my favorite drummer, and the best in the world for rock! On a final note, Alex and Adele were flirting non stop (lots of shoulder shimmying), and that upset Sabrina greatly haha. "Next tour, we're getting front row, and he's MINE!" Great show!
  3. Had to share a few photos! http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e365/Natedawg1647/photo1_zps8766ad7c.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e365/Natedawg1647/photo2_zps33fbc35f.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e365/Natedawg1647/photo3_zps2f519b9f.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e365/Natedawg1647/1002331_10200118470431801_940669608_n_zpsb87851b9.jpg Photo credit to Driven on the last pic, thanks!
  4. Loved all the photos! And yea, we were able to get some sleep lol. Although the room key fell out somewhere at the concert, so we had to pay 5 dollars for another one. We were asleep by midnight and were out of the hotel by 8:30 am haha. I'll be booking in advance next time!
  5. What an epic concert! Had an absolute blast, and Sabrina was blown away. Driventotheedge was sitting 2 rows almost directly in front of us, so we were able to talk a lot at intermission, and I got to watch him rock out the whole time haha. The first set was great, loved hearing The Analog Kid, and everything else. Neil's first solo was a bit different from what I've been seeing on youtube, as well. The second set...WOW Clockwork angels was definitely made to be played live. Just monstrous songs, even Halo Effect was so powerful. Cried during The Garden, big surprise lol. The Anarchist was so good, and I have a new appreciation for 7COG now. Manhattan Project and Red Sector A closed out my "songs I've never heard live" before, so for the rest, I was able to unfocus on the band and take everything else in. Truly fantastic. That being said, I am starting to hate Rush fans. The guys next to me spend the whole show bitching about the songs. It wasn't til yyz started that they even smiled. So dumb. My friend Andrea and her dad were also there, it was both of their first shows. I got a text from her about halfway through The Wreckers that pretty much summed the night up. She said, "This is amazing." Overall, a great and fun night, managed to meet a few people, was able to sneak a thumbs up to Howard Ungerleider and said, "glad to see they're still paying you." he responded with, "yea right they haven't paid me since the 80's," and gave me a wink. I was hoping to have more time to chat to him but he got a call from backstage and had to head back there. Now back to work :(
  6. On our way to billygans. If anyone wants to say hi, I'm in an addidas ball cap and a time machine 2010 shirt and my fiancé is in a rash shirt she turned into a tank top
  7. Just got into our motel. What a dump lol. Sabrina hardly wants to sleep in the bed haha. Those of you still checking into the "Inn at Salmon Creek," be warned! Anyway we're heading off to get our Ctran tickets and then off to billygans!
  8. We're not leaving here til like 2pm (2 hour drive). I wanna leave now and just sit outside the arena lol. It's funny, I'm more excited for the look on Sabrinas face when we walk into the arena than I am for myself to walk into the place :P
  9. Even though I would enjoy all 4 options, I'd have to go with Alex. Even though I'm a drummer and a bassist, golf is my sport, and it would definitely be the most fun. I'd have the easiest time being comfortable around him too I'd imagine.
  10. There are too many in this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFbrFoD8b78 2:20 and 2: 24 are my absolute favorites though.
  11. Will do! I'll be the short (5'8") guy in the S+A shirt with a girl who is way too pretty to be with me lol. She's also really not tall haha. And my pic is my display picture too. And yea I'm pretty happy with the seats! I'm hoping we're just far enough back to catch the whole production, including all of those moving tv screens.
  12. My fiance and I will both be there! Section 102, Row R, seats 26 and 27! Pretty close to you, Driven!
  13. Limelight, 2008 Snakes and Arrows Tour. I remember just being blown away at how precise everything was. I assumed the DVD's were heavily doctored and what not. First rush song i ever heard on the floor (A completely different experience!!!!!) was TSOR on leg two of the time machine though!
  14. I feel like just taking someone to a concert is the best way for them to "get it." There really is nothing like it
  15. My fiance likes them (not as much the music, but the friendship, the humor, and at least a few songs), but I can't wait for next Sunday when we see them at Portland. Subdivisions is her favorite song, and I can't wait to see the look on her face when they tear into it. I've been annoying her all year talking up this concert, and she's not over the top excited yet. She's gonna be mindblown. lol
  16. I have this problem with my Fiance's family. They make fun of us relentlessly. They just don't understand that a band could be this good. They don't get that it's possible to get as fired up about something as I am. They all listen to country music, and it's just impossibly difficult to talk to any of them about music. I hate it. lol
  17. My buddy just informed me that he has to cancel, sorry for the trouble.
  18. Just use google chrome, enable "stereo mix" under recording devices, then open sound recorder or any other audio capture program. bam. that being said... WOW Everything sounds HUGE Last chorus of Manhattan Project just blew me away. Imagine how good the DVD is going to be... I can't wait to see them in 9 days!
  19. First leg of the Time Machine Tour in Seattle. In 2112 on the "and the meek shall inherit the earth," line, he COMPLETELY butchered it, like not even close. Geddy stops mid line and goes "where are you?!," while laughing, and Neil counted them back in. Alex ran and hid behind his "amps," then came out and sat down on the riser for the whole first verse cause he was laughing so hard.
  20. The string ensemble sits in the front row during the first set, right? My lady and I want to try and get a picture with the string ensemble! Also, my original vote was cast for Audrey, but Adele is right up there with her now lol.
  21. My friend wants the ticket. Could you pm me your contact info?
