  3. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jan 31 2011, 06:53 PM) I'm trying to decide which show to go to... it'll probably be the second one. Wednesday night sounds better than Monday night. Whats wrong with a 3 or 4 day weekend???
  4. QUOTE (Test4Eco23 @ Jan 26 2011, 08:02 PM) I have decided to take my daughter to her first concert. She will have just turned 8 yrs. old at the time of the show (April 12 in Chicago). I think it will work out fine, but I do have concerns. I have asked friends, and family and have had mixed reactions. Some have said they think it's fine, and some said it wouldn't be a good idea. Some opinions from you guys would be great. I am sure some of you have taken you own children to Rush shows. Thanks... JRS My daughter will be 3 when they come back in 2012 as Alex has eluded to in the Gibson article. We will get lawn seats at Verizon in Irvine and she will be there , she has too she got a pink Rush T for Christmas.
  5. QUOTE (Hemispheres89 @ Feb 21 2011, 11:19 AM) QUOTE (sgbam42 @ Feb 20 2011, 09:58 PM) The way i see it is with advances in medical technology and assuming we wont all kill each other i will be 115 years old when the year 2112 comes around so i might live to see it. Wouldn't you be around 127 if you were born in 1985? My daughter is 2 , she'll be 3 in 2012....maybe , just maybe...
  6. QUOTE (osage2112 @ Feb 18 2011, 09:21 PM) Of COURSE they were going to tour in 2012...some kid going to that show just might be alive when 2112 comes around. Ohh yeah , there pre- 100th anniversary of 2112, there is no God if they don't play that album in its entirety.

  12. QUOTE (Marathonist @ May 23 2008, 05:32 PM) QUOTE (Orbourus @ May 23 2008, 07:26 PM) So why didn't anyone answer my questions seriously? Your last question was a stumper - I for one didn't know you were looking for some "real-life" history behind the lyric on "Digital Man." I honestly didn't know there was any - thanks, because that story IS interesting. I was just taking a stab in the dark. no prob.
  13. So why didn't anyone answer my questions seriously?

Didn't Carmine Appice play for them?? btw; Does anybody but me remeber a band from the 80's called Zebra from the New Orleans area??? Zebra
  15. Yep , but He'd love to spend the night in Zion So why does he not need a bed? Well the story goes that when they were doing the pre production planning for Signals they were going over housing and meals etc. So they needed rooms for the Band , Producer ,Engineers, etc. but when it came to the Digital Man ( as this was the first Rush Album to be released in the new fangled format called CD) that the person coming in to do the digital mastering could knock it out in one day....thus he wont need a bed because he's a Digital Man. Ok I'm done , its someone elses turn to post one.
  16. Yes he is...but there is more to it than that.
  17. Ok , next one is a little easier...Why doesn't the Digital Man need a bed??
  18. nope ... ok this one has gone on for a coup[le of days so I will end it. According to the book Visions (Rush bio) the first original song was....Losing Again. It was written by Ged & Alex but if you asked J.R. he would have said it was he and Alex.
  19. Niiiice , but in my best Alex Trabeck voice... "ohh sorry , no."
  20. Who's fighting ? its the wrong answer.
  21. QUOTE (Marathonist @ May 20 2008, 05:11 PM) QUOTE (Orbourus @ May 20 2008, 11:51 AM) 1.The Beaufort scale 2.the movie Force 10 from Navarone Right on the Beaufort Scale. Hadn't heard about Force Ten From Navarone; the usual "other" explanation is that it was the tenth song "forced" onto HYF. Sorry I didn't respond earlier - I spent most of the day out of the office. No Problem... so my second answer ( re: Movie title) wasn't the correct one? I know the story about F10 on HYF it was put together in about 18 hrs.it goes something like this... Geddy Lee (on Rockline, 10/5/87): "It was more or less an afterthought in the writing stage. We took two months to do all of our writing and preproduction, you know, preparation for the making of the record, and we had nine songs, and we had about a day and a half left of time booked before we were supposed to leave and get ready to make the record. And our producer and all of us were pushing for ten tracks on the album, and some lyrics had been submitted to us by a friend of ours, Pye Dubois, who co-wrote 'Tom Sawyer' with us in years gone by. And Neil was able to put some of his own thoughts to one of the songs that he had and present it to us in the morning of the last day that we were there, and we loved the results, so we got together and brainstormed for about 2 or 3 hours, and we had Force Ten."
