  5. QUOTE (TheAccountant @ Jun 5 2012, 07:53 PM) QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Jun 5 2012, 10:18 AM) Am I crazy for thinking that Perfect Strangers is the best Deep Purple album ever? I absolutely love that album, especially Knockin At Your Back Door and the title track. No you are not crazy. Its actually my favorite Deep Purple album. That being said, I only have it and Deepest Purple so my Deep Purple collection is very limited. Like the group, saw them once (with Lanyard Skynard - how's that for a slightly odd double bill) and enjoyed them live but for some reason never really got into them. Like their music, just never got into them. Can't explain it. Perhaps if I got more of their stuff I would like them more, want to get still more and my answer would change. The 2 songs you mention are also my favorites off the album. Are lanyard skynard a lynyrd skynyrd tribute band? DEEP PURPLE THE GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME?...YES THEY ARE! perfect strangers is a great album but fireball, machine head,in rock and who do we think we are were better albums from mk2 purple. Made in japan is still the best live album OF ALL TIME

  9. saw FOCUS on friday in manchester, a very small 500-600 seater hall (a plus by my reckoning) it was a greatest hits package and a great show but i felt a little sad that such a fantastic band were reduced to playing these types of venues, and when the legendary theis van leer announced he would be signing copies of the new cd in the foyer my heart sank. Focus...perhaps the most underated prog rock band ever
