  2. Happy Birthday George Harrison http://www.beatlesbible.com/wp/media/george-harrison_001.jpg George would have been 70 years old today. Thank you for a lifetime of great music and for bringing such much joy to so many people for so many years. You music and your spirit lives on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMgCpb1nli4
  3. :goodone: "The Final Cut" is an amazing and underrated album, that is, indeed, a fact! :goodone: I agree. Nice avatar, btw, RGLT. Thanks! :dweez:

  5. Wow, this is nearly impossible, but I will attempt my top 20, in chronological order (not necessarily in order of my favs). Of course, ask me again tomorrow and the list will most certainly have changed. Here goes... See Emily Play Astronomy Domine Fat Old Sun One of These Days Echoes The Great Gig in the Sky Us and Them Shine on You Crazy Diamond (I-V) & (VI-IX) Wish You Were Here Dogs Pigs Sheep One of My Turns Nobody Home Comfortably Numb The Gunner's Dream Not Now John Learning to Fly Marooned High Hopes
  6. To my fellow NYC area Rush & King's X brothers and sisters, King's X is playing a headline gig on Sunday, 05 May 2013 at Stage 48 in New York City. Tickets are only $20.00. It would be a great opportunity for some of us TFRers to hang out. We could meet up at the Harley's Midtown (formally Irish Rogue Pub), just a couple blocks away from Stage 48 before the gig. https://stage48.com/events/kings-x/ Stage 48 605 W. 48th St. New York, NY 10036 (212) 957-1800 www.stage48.com
  7. Where the heck is the "Animals" Immersion Box?????? My thoughts exactly...I love "Animals"!!!!
  8. I totally got this article... This guy uses his daughter to get Pete's attention and now to get what won't even amount to 15 minutes of fame...what a loser. I can hear him talking to his friends before the gig, "Dude, I'm bringing my daughter and even made a sign, I bet Pete will look right at me. Maybe even give her a pick, which will be mine...MINE, MINE, ALL MINE, HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!" I really think he's the one who owes his daughter an apology. "Sorry honey, daddy just wanted a guitarist to look directly at him, I hope you understand." Pete Townshend should make him turn in all of his Who CDs & DVDs.
  9. The biggest new release for me is the new David Bowie album which drops on 12 March...less than a month to go!!!!
  10. I personally thought that Robert Plant sounded fine on "Celebration Day" and on the boots from the O2 gig from 2007. I think his voice would handle a hand full of dates (with days off in between)...maybe not a 30-50 city tour though.
  11. Black Sabbath - Master of Reality Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind Metallica - Master of Puppets Motorhead - Ace of Spades Def Leppard - High n Dry Dio - Holy Diver Judas Priest - Brittish Steel The Almighty - Powertrippin' Alice Cooper - Brutal Planet Mötley Crüe - Too Fast for Love
  12. Allow Captain Earl to set coordinates to 51degrees 29'20N 0 degrees 11'52'W. The date(s) is 7-9 August of 1980. This time we find ourselves in London, England at the historic. Earls Court. Pink Floyd is about to unveil it's epic masterpiece, "The Wall" live. http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/sevenages/assets/events/art-rock/first-date-of-the-wall/gallery/1.jpg As you sit in the crowd absorbing all of the sights and all of the sounds, (along with some added recreational activities perhaps) you start thinking to yourself, "I've been to rock shows before, but there is something historic happening here". After the gig is over, you leave, but you know you'll never be the same. Back on board you go and you are off once again...never knowing where you will land next.
  13. Three nights in New York City 40 years ago... ...set your controls to 27, 28, and 29 July 1973. Madison Square Garden to see the mighty Led Zeppelin film "The Song Remains the Same". Who wants to come along for the ride?

  15. I have had the priviledge of attending a M&G and am glad to have had the opportunity. This being said, I will say that they are slightly overrated and not overly personal exchanges. You are basically ushered in and wait in line and given instructions as to how the M&G will work. Alex and Geddy come out and you have no more than 30 seconds (if that long) to say what you'd like, shake hands and a photgrapher snaps the photo and you are off. Again, in spite of this, I am glad to have done so, but would not recommend anyone paying for this opportunity.
  16. I just went through a Genesis marathon and am currently working my way through the Pink Floyd catalogue. The thing I was struck with today is how major a part of Pink Floyd Richard Wright was, especially on those early recordings. Still, I have to tip the scales in Tony Banks favour...his playing is simply amazing and blows me away in any Genesis era/style.
