  1. Playoff party in the Hangout this weekend!
  2. I've been hanging out at another bar and grill, but this one has a better TV room. Go Packers! beat those Bears!
  3. What made my day?? The score in the Green Bay- Atlanta game. Although it's not quite over...it looks like the Packers are going to WIN!
  4. What made my day was a couple of Rushgeek moments: 1) I was at the service department of the car dealership getting some routine maintainance done, and happened to look at some of the work that I've had done in the past, and there was Body Electric(al). 2) so I thought that was my geek moment for the day, and over the muzak station comes: New World Man! oh, and then the service rep gave me a great discount. A good day, even if it did snow all day today.
  5. Chips and snacks on the bar, ready for the football games. Go Packers!
  6. How did the kids like it? or did they need barf bags?
  7. The 100% non spillable travel mug that leaked all over my work bag this morning. Thank goodness nothing vital was ruined, but all the paper at the bottom was a soggy mess. Just what I needed on the first day back after vacation.
  8. QUOTE (missionman @ Jan 2 2011, 10:13 PM) I'm taking the kids flying tomorrow. One hellofa way to start the new year! They're SOOO excited!!! I'm gonna show them what a 7,000 foot roller coaster feels like That sounds awesome!!
  9. QUOTE (TullSkull @ Jan 1 2011, 09:32 AM) Welcome to 2011 Friends..... What a fireworks show last night, was -2 outside and we light up the night sky and said bye bye 2010. Come on 2011. Quite the party last night! Thanks for the fireworks display. The place is cleaned up and ready for those wanting to watch football. Go Badgers!
  10. QUOTE (ridertoo98 @ Dec 28 2010, 10:47 PM) The place is ready bar stocked and food is waiting to be fixed. Plenty of both to go around. Lock box for carkeys,or I car drive. Double party! New Year's and the original Hang Out anniversary.
  11. Getting home after a wonderful(for the most part) visit to family in Georgia.
  12. Going through security at Atlanta/Hartsfield airport. Idiots run that place! A single checkpoint for the whole airport. There were hundreds of people waiting in line, and we nearly missed our flight. I'll take our airport any time. Atlanta has a lack of common sense. TSA here rocks!
  13. nailing my vocal part in the Hallelujah chorus at practice.
  14. Eggnog on the counter, along with the assortment of 16 different kinds of cookies. Have a fun and safe holiday!
  15. QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Dec 19 2010, 11:19 AM) QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Dec 17 2010, 10:17 PM)There's a substitute teacher at my school who is the weirdest guy ever. Today we had him for a class and everyone was quietly doing their work. He then asked a girl if he could use her phone to take a picture of the class and text it to himself. When she asked why, he said for "personal reasons". He got pissed and then said it was to send to his friends who are teachers to show them how well behaved we were. The whole thing seemed suspicious, and a bunch of us decided that we should tell another teacher because this was just awkward. What pissed me off was this isn't the first time something like this happened with the same guy. The guy acts like a sex offender yet the school keeps him. On Monday we are talking to the administration. Do you really see taking a picture of the class as proof of his being a sex offender? Now, if he were taking pictures of a specific girl (or guy), then that might be suspicious behavior. Be very careful about this. If you jump to conclusions and wrongly accuse this guy of something, you could destroy his career and life. Ask yourself these questions: 1. If the substitute teacher were female and asked to do the same thing, would you have the same suspicions? 2. Is the teacher making inappropriate requests from individual students? in private? If not, then you don't have much evidence of any misconduct. 3. Have you explained to the substitute teacher exactly why you and your fellow students see his behavior as "awkward"? TALK TO THE TEACHER IN PERSON. Inform him of your apprehensions and explain why - in a NON-accusational manner. But this guy now has this particular girl's phone number, because he used her phone. I'm a teacher. We're told over and over not to do stuff like this... and I'm suspicious.
  16. I saw a truck with two huge starman emblems in the back window last night. and I saw a bumper sticker that made me laugh today: I'm speeding because I have to Poop! Best excuse I've ever seen.

  18. The Christmas tree is up. Put a few ornaments on it as you pass through this weekend!
  19. So they had a special lunch today for the kids and teachers, and there wasn't anything on the menu that I could eat(and the cooks and staff are aware that I have food allergies.) I'm glad I brought my own lunch, but how special is that? I bring my lunch every day!
  20. Finally got the Hang out decorated for the holidays! Enjoy the eggnog and cookies!
  21. I spent hours after work on Thursday putting materials together for my substitute on Friday...and she "couldn't find anything". Well you found the lesson plans, sub folder, Math(the kid's worksheets), and the art project...if you had looked in the SAME BASKET there were also items for spelling and the Big Book for Science, as well as the teacher pages for Math. Oh yeah, the lesson plans were on top of that basket! Grumble..
  22. no, maybe 3 to 4 inches, and all that light powdery stuff, which is blowing around. However, the temperature has dropped from 38 degrees to 21, with a promise of dropping to 4 degrees tonight. Brrr!
  23. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Dec 10 2010, 03:49 PM) For what it's worth, seeing as how we're on opposite sides of the country, I have no idea what kind of insurance you have, and many other factors: We rarely if EVER mention Stephen's autism diagnosis in those words. It's always "developmental delay across all areas" or, in his case but not your son's, mental retardation. There are different codes, and we learned the hard way that blabbing the "a-word" will often cause roadblocks. We speak in code here too. The school system uses Pervasive Developmental Delay as code for Autism, even if it's on the high side of the spectrum. You have to really read the education plan to figure out where the child is on the spectrum, and sometimes that doesn't even help. However, I understand that there is a need to not use autism as a term with insurance, since it isn't covered in this state either.
  24. QUOTE (TullSkull @ Dec 12 2010, 08:36 AM) A storm that spanned parts of eight states continued to dump heavy snow in the upper Midwest on Sunday, collapsing the Metrodome in Minneapolis and forcing numerous road closures. and here in the SW Colorado we are dry MidWest Storm.. We're on the edge of that. Once it stops snowing, the temperature is going to drop through the floor.
