  2. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Nov 15 2004, 10:17 AM) From Coming Soon Tom Hanks Deciphers The Da Vinci Code November 15, 2004 Tom Hanks has been pegged to play the lead role in Sony's upcoming film The Da Vinci Code, the adaptation of author Dan Brown's best-selling thriller, Newsweek has learned. Director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer, the duo who helped make Hanks a star with their 1984 comedy Splash and rehired him 11 years later for Apollo 13, cast Hanks as the globe-trotting scholar Robert Langdon, a decision based partially on the cerebral (riddle-solving, code-cracking) nature of the action in "Da Vinci." "Tom is an exciting actor to watch thinking," Howard tells the magazine. "We probably don't need his status from a box-office standpoint" -- by now, The Da Vinci Code sells itself -- "but he gives Langdon instant legitimacy." Howard and Grazer are taking their time casting "Da Vinci," but plan to hire actual foreign actors to play the book's foreign characters. "If there's any book that's supposed to be an international thriller, says Grazer, "this is it." Grazer tells Newsweek that one recent Oscar winner inquired about the role of Parisian cryptologist Sophie Neveu, "and she could easily do it. But I think the audience would be let down a bit. They expect a French girl." As for the role of bullish cop Bezu Fache, Gordon reports that Jean Reno is on Grazer's short list. Grazer first got wind of The Da Vinci Code early in 2003, when Joel Surnow -- creator of the acclaimed TV series 24 -- thought "Da Vinci" would make a terrific story line for the show's third season. Surnow asked his boss, Grazer, to look into acquiring the rights. But as Brown had no intention of handing over his book to a mere TV show, Grazer says that "it quickly became clear that we had no chance." A few months later Sony paid $6 million for the movie rights -- and hired Grazer as the producer for the biggest film adaptation since "Harry Potter." SWEET! i'm reading that book right now! it is soooooooooooooooooooo good

His mother won awards on being pretty and his dad was a field champion. So was his grandpa and his grandpa. His papers have a long list of awards and all that good stuff. He's just a pet to me though. I might breed him but I'm not sure yet. Indy your dog is wicked!

QUOTE (Moonraker @ Nov 9 2004, 11:31 PM) QUOTE (D-13 @ Nov 9 2004, 09:45 PM) Hey guys.....Yes mistrust.....they have changed thats for sure!! we sounded like New Metallica, and thats not good....I was playing stuff so it sounded complex and stuff because thats what I want for a band....complexity and they were like....umm Al turn it down a notch.....turn it down a notch???WTF? lol It was really heavy sounding too....and I kept giving them cool lines but....they didn't like it...I don't want to be one of those bands that are all the same on the radio.....in fact if our band made it into the music industry...we would simply not survive...lol Sucks to hear that, I had problems just like that while I was playing bass with a few other people. They tended not to like the bass player going all over the place while the guitars were playing power chords . Its gonna be hard to find other people in HS that like to play the same kinda stuff and have the same vision in music. I hear ya

  17. QUOTE (Quyn @ Oct 25 2004, 07:01 AM) As Jack will tell you - I have an additction when it comes to buying CDs. Here are the last couple of ones I have bought -- Scissor Sisters (self titled) -- the best album Elton John never made. Think Elton, mixed with the Bee Gees, throw in a little Frankie Goes to Hollywood. The Sister's version of "Comfortably Numb" is sacrilege, but really is a a scream! The Killers (Hot Fuss) - Not the greatest I have heard but good for driving around with the top down. Muse (Absolution) - pretty much a Radiohead-like group but "Time is Running Out" is a wicked cool song. The Libertines (Up The Bracket) -- ROCKS! Go buy it today. Bright Eyes (Lifted) -- not for everyone but if angst is your thing ... (it is mine). "Lover I Don't Have To Love" is amazing Franz Ferdinand (self titled) - art-punk, jangly guitars, great driving music Keane (Hopes and Fears) - In my opinion, the album of the year. If you like Coldplay, you'll love Keane. Damien Rice (b-sides) -- I adore this man! Sit back, relax and enjoy! Very nice!!! Muse is such a good band!! They came to Calgary yesterday and my friends said they were awesome!
