  1. QUOTE (MULTIPLIED REACTION @ Dec 16 2010, 03:16 PM)QUOTE (metaldad @ Dec 16 2010, 02:50 PM) Portnoy is Done with A7X . Thank God Rumor has it he is joining Blink 182. ...no. Just no.
  2. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Dec 20 2010, 04:59 PM) Brad Delp had an amazing voice. Yes. <3
  3. 4. I went to Best Buy with the intention of using a coupon to buy another copy of the new MyChem cd for a friend, and getting an auxiliary cable for my iPod... and then, I bought another CD. Led Zeppelin - Presence (got it because it was only ten bucks; usually, their albums are $15)
  5. I will be beyond happy if they play in Columbia. They last played there in 1992, but pretty much always stopped there for a show; in fact, that's where both of my parents first saw Rush in 1979. The only thing better than that would be if they played here in Augusta, but that's ridiculously unlikely, as they last played here in 1986; and the crowd, according to my dad, was very small and not energetic.
  6. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Dec 17 2010, 04:07 PM)QUOTE (Kenneth @ Dec 17 2010, 07:43 PM) QUOTE (Mr. Krinkle @ Dec 17 2010, 06:35 AM) QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Dec 17 2010, 03:56 AM) QUOTE (Kenneth @ Dec 17 2010, 12:58 AM) Poor ol' Steve has a serious back problem at the moment (word of mouth) Guitars are heavy f*ckers when you're a living skeleton. So, when he can't play live will they recruit Trevor Rabin? Then they can kick out the Jon Anderson imposter and finish up the band's legacy on a positive note with Jon Anderson at the vocals. Then I'll go see them again. Trevor Rabin is worse than the Jon "imposter" Peter Banks!!! Give me Trevor over Banks anyday. Banks is a moany git. Trevor gave us 90125 and from the live stuff I've heard, he did a damn fine job of the '70's classics. Lord Howe might dismiss Trevor's input, but it doesn't mean he's right. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Dec 17 2010, 04:07 PM)Lord Howe needs a burger and rare steak.
  7. Love this show to death. Started watching it towards the end of the year and I've fallen in love. I haven't really watched it since the end of Season 2, but Season 3 is a month away so I guess it's time to catch up on the first season. Also, his comedy tour came to Augusta but I couldn't afford tickets, and even if I had been able to afford it, I wouldn't have been able to drive myself. Next time he comes here, I'll be able to drive, and maybe take someone, too.
  8. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Dec 15 2010, 12:20 PM) How absolutely epic and wonderful and sublime is "A Day in the Life"? Very. <3
  9. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Dec 12 2010, 08:13 PM) Toltec by Jon Anderson is the weirdest album I ever heard. I'm not sure if I like it or not. I haven't heard any of Jon's solo stuff, but I would imagine that the ingestion of a hallucinogenic drug might make the music more enjoyable, because after all... it is Jon Anderson.
  10. So, on the way to the Georgia Southern game this morning, I figured that I should listen to an album from this year that I haven't heard yet: Bad Religion's The Dissent of Man. I should have DEFINITELY listened to this album sooner, it's a great record. I think it's a bit more easier to digest on a first listen than Stranger Than Fiction was, but that may be because I know what Bad Religion sounds like now, and I didn't last year. Anyways, it's a great record and probably one of my favorites of 2010. (Which reminds me, I need to get to work on my 2010 list sometime soon.)
  11. "Stockholm Syndrome" by blink-182 is one of the most perfect and powerful songs I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. inb4 WHYYYY XANNYDEW
  12. Since the game is in three hours, and everyone else I'm with went to a home shopping store, I went to a conveniently-placed Best Buy across the street and got these two albums. Lupe Fiasco - Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade is Dead! With the purchase of the latter, I now own all of MyChem's studio and live albums. Haters gonna hate.
  13. Radiohead, Lupe Fiasco, Depeche Mode, My Chemical Romance, Big & Rich, blink-182. The first three are more of a total 180 from Rush, but I threw the last three in there for good measure.
  14. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Dec 3 2010, 07:18 PM)I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy Going for the One, its amazing. Yes. <3
  15. Just listened to Garbage's second album, Version 2.0, and while I don't think it's as great as the debut, it's still a damn good album, and "I Think I'm Paranoid" is still an awesome song. <3
  16. tl;dr awesome nine-day break So I had this last week off, because of Thanksgiving. Traditionally, my county has given us Wednesday through Friday off, but because of budget problems, Monday and Tuesday were furlough days. Anyways, I had an entire week to do nothing, and I actually did a lot. Breakdown: That weekend (the first weekend of the break), I had a "party". I had invited like ten people, and only two showed up, both of whom are two of my closest friends, but we all had fun. Watched them play Call of Duty and Halo, and generally hung out and whatnot. Worked out on Monday, and the new My Chemical Romance album came out. And even though they're a stereotypically dark band, their new album was great. (More on it later!) I worked out again Tuesday, then went and hung out with two other friends. One had to go home after a little while, so I hung out with the other friend for like two hours, which was pretty cool. On Wednesday, I worked out, because the gym was closed on Thanksgiving, and I also went to my first Augusta State game of the year. We won, 101-66, despite a few players on the other team who had serious anger issues. Thursday was Thanksgiving... so NOM NOM NOM. And on Friday, I worked out, but at the gym, not a store. (I don't do Black Friday shopping!) I also got to play bass along to Box Car Racer and +44, which I don't always get to do. I also listened to some 2010 albums, so I can more accurately rate them at the end of the year. On Saturday, I went to Statesboro, to watch the (my?) Georgia Southern Eagles play South Carolina State in a playoff game, where we won 41-16. The crowd was more energetic than I ever remember it being, and I've been going to GSU games since I was three. I completely blew my voice out, and pretty much jumped and yelled for the entire game. Had an absolute blast. Yesterday, I didn't do that much, asides from doing the sound system at church. I messed up twice and created some feedback, but asides from that I did pretty good. Next time, I'll know to pay more attention. I also went to the mall and picked up two blink-182 t-shirts and some cd's as a birthday present to myself. Yes, I'm aware that if you read this, you deserve a treat. I'm also aware that a lot of this seems boring and mundane, but this week was something I really needed. I posted this on Facebook on Thankgiving night, which basically sums it up: "This week has been awesome. Since my first listen to the new MyChem album, I've felt even more optimistic about the future, and Angels & Airwaves' new record is also helping that feeling. And there are still three more days left of this break, then three weeks until christmas break. The future is looking really good." I'm very glad that I got this week off, because I feel much better about stuff now.
  17. In no order. The Big Bang Theory Two and a Half Men A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus (music news show hosted by blink-182's bassist and vocalist) When tosh.0 starts season three it'll bump Two and a Half Men's spot, just because last season was that awesome.
  18. My ultimate wish is for them to play here in Augusta, but seeing as they haven't played here since the PoW tour where, according to my dad, the venue was maybe half-full, they won't. Columbia would be a very nice alternative (last played on the RTB tour), seeing as it's an hour away from here and you have an easy trip for people in Charlotte, Charleston, Augusta, and the other cities in and near South Carolina. I think they could sell out the Carolina Coliseum (12,401), or at least sell a lot of tickets.
  19. I got these four cd's, along with two blink-182 shirts, for $58.59. Cheap Trick - Heaven Tonight Jawbreaker - Unfun Pennywise - Pennywise Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
  20. So, apparently there's a Radiohead "bootleg" out there, shot by fans, but with audio donated by the band for the project, and it's free. And I'm just now hearing of this? Will download sometime tomorrow. This looks awesome.
  21. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Nov 27 2010, 03:08 PM)The Weezer album is great however. Its very power-popish, kind of like Cheap Trick, except the singer isn't as good. Its upbeat and powerfull, so I'd say buy it I gave it an 8/10. I'll be checking out their older albums. I can't really help you much there, but I will say to get their debut first. It's a really good album.
