  1. QUOTE (wibblet @ Sep 1 2010, 06:04 PM) post made before reading entire thread. Still think he needs to grow a pair and grow up. I'm pretty sure that comment was unnecessary. So because some people want the rules to be followed, they need to grow up? How does that work?
  2. QUOTE (RushRevisited @ Sep 1 2010, 02:41 PM) QUOTE (Rushgirl @ Sep 1 2010, 03:25 PM)QUOTE (vital signz @ Sep 1 2010, 12:45 PM) QUOTE (Draco @ Sep 1 2010, 01:31 PM) Rushgirl is a great human being!!! She is honest, and lives life to the fullest. So are many of us. It is still a rude, UNCOOL thing to do regardless of how nice she is while outside of the arena. Any of you here who support such actions at the expense of inconveniencing folks around you are just being ridiculous. The begging she does when they ask her to move is pathetic and distracting. The reappearance later during the show was disrespectful to the security guards and all of those around her who realized what was going on and it's distracting from the concert. It sounds like you are not going to change what you are doing Rushgirl, so THAT ALONE tells me what kind of person you really are. And just how many times have YOU witnessed me to this?? You PUBLICALLY call me out on a board about doing this and make it seem like EVERY show I go to I do this, point of fact is I DO NOT and 80% of the people here know it as does THE BAND - FACT! My .02 cents take is this: You see me get my picture up on rush.com and a wave from the guys and you ARE jealous. Don't you dare pass judgement on me about what kind of person I truly am because you have no idea...... Have we ever met face to face? Have YOU ever had a conversation with me either at a show or privately by PM?? NO So you calling me out and making me out to be some kind of insenstive concert goer makes YOU a douchebag, and that is the kind of person you are. Point of fact: Genaro thinks you are off your nut - he never said any such thing to you - I suggest you get your facts straight before you quote him in any way, and by all means, please do come up and introduce yourself if you see me at a show. I would be more than happy to prove you wrong about me being an inconsiderate and rude person. I wouldn't be so sure that 80% know any such thing and I also wouldn't be so sure "the band" knows whether you pay or not for front row 90% of the time (not that what the band thinks is really relevant here and not sure why you would even bring something like that up, but...) - how would they know something like that? And I don't think he or anyone else is jealous of you. You say don't pass judgement and I agree on that in general, but I don't think it is really that far of a reach to pass judgement on your actions on this - both the incident itself, but maybe more importantly how you have handled yourself on this situation today. Calling people a douche bag, accusing them of being "jealous", running to CP to start a thread titled "TRF Whiners" and comparing the entire board to Tri-Net etc, when you are the one who broke the rules and got called out on it doesn't increase your standing IMO. In fact, aren't you passing judgment on this entire board based solely on an incident that has been brought to light by one user? I agree that maybe a public post by VS calling you out "by screen name" wasn't the best way to go about it. But really a simple post by you saying "Wow! I had no idea I was bothering anyone by doing what I did, by breaking the rules like that! I am so sorry and I will definitely think twice the next time - I never thought I was bothering a fellow Rush fan! I hope you accept my apologies" would have gone a hell of a lot further with people than to act as though you did absolutely nothing wrong, that you somehow have an entitlement to be up there without paying and then proceeding to trash this board on another board for absolutely no valid reason. I think you are probably a really good person, a dedicated Rush fan, and I don't think incident is necessarily indicitive of who you are and I hope no one passes judgement on you as a whole, but I think taking responsibility for actions goes a long way. I won't post anything else in here - I really don't want to fight with anyone. I just don't think you are portraying this correctly and I disagree with your assessment of both this board and of the people who have expressed their opinion against "front row jumping". Peace.
  3. I mean, don't get me wrong, that's hugely considerate and nice of you to offer someone to stand in the front row. But its just wrong. It's against the rules and if I were offered by someone, I would have to politely decline, even if it is my dream to be in the front row. I would never want to encroach on someone's space, especially in the front row.
  4. I mean, even if you have a friend who is like sure, come up to the front row and stand with me... I still think that's wrong. If they wanted to switch with you for a couple songs, that's fine. Just because someone is a friend with front row seats doesn't let them have the privilege of letting whoever they want into the front row.
  5. As 73 said, a lot of people are assuming things about other people that aren't necessary, on both sides. Just because you assume that people in the front row don't know who the band is or are *GASP* not the dreaded CONTEST WINNERS (many contest winners are actually Rush fans... shocking, I know) doesn't make them less worthy of the seat that they have or that they paid for. You have no idea how they got their seat and you have no idea how much they are or are not enjoying the show. People enjoy things in their own way. I'm not saying Rushgirl is saying she is more worthy than others of front row (she seems like a nice, respectable gal who most of the time pays good, hard earned cash for her front row seat), but others are acting this way and its almost a little shocking. I didn't know there were official judges as to who is the better Rush fan. I didn't know there was rules where if you are a better fan you can just walk up and get into the front row. Here all this time I thought you had to pay money. Gee, I'm a pretty huge fan. I guess I should just walk up and take my spot in the front row. I understand that she didn't mean any harm by what she did and if she thought that people would be upset, she probably wouldn't have done it. But its just natural for people to be a little upset when someone gets to be in a seat that they didn't pay for. Because I guarantee you there were plenty of other huge huge fans of Rush who would have died to be in the front row. Hell, I would have died to be in the front row. So how is it decided that its okay for some to get into the front row but not others? Because they're a "better" fan? Absurd. I've of the mindset, ya gotta stick to the rules and live with what ya got. But that's just me. Again Rushgirl, don't take this personally, I'm not just responding to you but a lot of the others who have responded to this post. I'm just giving my honest opinion of the whole deal.
  6. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Sep 1 2010, 11:47 AM) QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ Sep 1 2010, 11:36 AM) Here's my problem. I'm sure Rushgirl is a nice girl, no one is disputing that (at least not with me) In fact, when I see pictures of her with her plates, I always smile because she's living the dream. The problem is people shelled out a ton of money for their front row seats, or even the close rows. Just because 90% of the time you pay for your front row seat does not mean you're entitled to ALWAYS be in the front row. I'm normally close at concerts, too. I just like to be close. At Germain Ampitheatre in 2007 I was sixth row, Geddy's side. I couldn't drop a huge wad of bills this time to get close seats. So I was not close. Was I a little bummed about it? Of course. Did I suck it up and have a blast at the seats I had? Of course. It's not just about crowding someone (which is a huge problem because they paid a lot of money to be there and enjoy the concert). She may not have been crowding anyone at all. But the principle of the matter is she didn't pay for front row seats this time around. So sometimes you just need to suck it up and deal with what you got. I would have loved to been front row. How about next time everyone just sneaks up to the front row? Since its no problem, I guess everyone can do it. Switching seats is a whole nother issue. If someone wants to switch seats with you for a few songs or a set or however long, that's peaches and cream. But to just come up and get in the front row without have paid for it is just not right. IMO Not trying to stir anyone up. Just giving my honest opinion on the matter. Your sig is another picture that I always smile at. Maybe someday....

  8. QUOTE (Kenneth @ Apr 9 2010, 02:08 AM) Kudos to whoever can guess what movie this is from. <img width='740' src='http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc23/shinkleface/ery.jpg' border='0' alt='User posted image' /> What movie is it?!?!?! I'm pretty sure I've seen it and its driving me nuts!
  9. QUOTE (Hoovermac @ Aug 30 2010, 09:41 PM) "Pure fat, topped with a layer of fat" "I hate f***ing WATCHES!" "So, I got my driver's license *BLAGHAHHHHHHH" *Neil drinking wine, laughs* "Don't kill Pratt, it's not good for business!" Lol I love that part too! "Think of the children!"
  10. I mean, that's the thing, I thought they didn't allow cameras...but I saw a bunch of them at Nationwide...they weren't banning them at all. Security didn't care at all.
  11. QUOTE (dakota2112 @ Aug 30 2010, 05:15 PM) I had floor tickets on Ged's side, 7th row, and while everyone in front of me remained standing, I do want to acknowledge the fact that the crowd up there in front was relatively dead compared to past shows that I've been to. Just an observation. The show was great though. Ged was in top form. that's strange as well, because the crowd in Sec 105 was far from dead. We were having a blast!
  12. QUOTE (tmicom @ Aug 30 2010, 03:23 PM) QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ Aug 30 2010, 11:13 AM)Yeah I went... loved the show. Loved everything about it. As some may know, I'm a college female and the men behind me during the intermission complemented me for knowing the words to all the lyrics better than some of the people around me. The show was great, the only thing that hurts my soul is I didn't bring my camera, because apparently Rush was allowing them....what happen. Last time they were really strict about cameras, to the point of making people not take pictures with their cellphones. Ahhh well. It was still a great night, one I'll not forget. One guy behind me told the 2 girls to my right they were "The most attractive RUSH fans in the venue." I just wanted to cover my head in shame as I am sure he meant it as a compliment but it came out sounding like such a cheesy pickup line. I only had my cell camera and I was in section 206, which while near the back still afforded a good view but very bad pictures! I only had my cell camera too, which is decent, but in the pictures you can't really see anything.
  13. Strange. I was in section 105 and from what I could tell, my section remained standing. I can only judge the front part of the section though, as I was in row A.
  14. you need to host them... try photobucket.com

  16. Row CC? what row is that? It says A-Z...certainly its not row 3.... I see...its after A-Z. It's just confusing because it doesn't say A-ZZ...it says A-Z
