QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Mar 28 2012, 10:54 AM) QUOTE (Archangel717 @ Mar 28 2012, 11:47 AM) http://i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr55/JmAnYoShI/fire.jpg Me and my boys playing with fire So, what's the name of your boy band? I'm actually a solo act. I'm the only one who's musically savvy. That would make a great album cover though!

  3. Black Sabbath Definately not as good as everyone makes them out to be.
  4. QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Mar 27 2012, 06:48 AM) If I had my way, I'd wear sweat pants/athletic pants every day of my life! More realistically: School: Khaki pants/khaki shorts Leisure: athletic/sweat pants lol can't argue that they're not comfortable
  5. QUOTE (HowItIs @ Mar 27 2012, 03:28 AM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Mar 26 2012, 08:53 AM) Some easy to remember and find edible plants: Cattails: eat the stalks and immature seed heads in early to mid-spring, boil then eat the roots later in the year (in Winter you should boil the roots at least three times, changing the water each time, to get all the tannin out of them, otherwise they'll make you sick) roast the root lightly after boiling it. Pine seedlings: eat the tap root, it's fine raw or roasted. Acorns: boil three times, changing the water each time, then roast and eat. Dandelions: the leaves are a little bitter, but not too bad and they're chock-full of nutrients. Kudzu: eat the young shoots and leaves. The leaves boil up nicely and are a lot like spinach, I love 'em! Reindeer moss: boil it and eat. It's a little nutrient-poor but still contains some starches, so eat a lot if it's all you have and drink the broth. It's surprisingly flavorful. You can also eat the new growth of pine trees, the really bright green stuff that appears in the spring. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, too. The new growth of ferns is quite good (fiddleheads). Gather them when they are brand new or they will get tough. Great sauteed in butter! Dandelion root can be dried, ground and brewed as coffee for a nutritious drink. There are many weeds that are also medicinal (not just *that* one, either). I'll try to post a few of those when I have more time..... Also, the inner bark of a pine is edible.
  6. The JFK one was awesome... Gotta love watching a couple of comedians debunk conspiracy theories.
  7. QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Mar 26 2012, 04:21 PM) QUOTE (ReRushed @ Mar 26 2012, 01:45 PM) QUOTE (Archangel717 @ Mar 26 2012, 04:42 PM) CCR I like a song or two, but I don't think they're as amazing as people say they are The great Creedence Clearwater Revival is underrated! Song after song, album after album, it's great rock and roll - almost all of it. Agreed. CCR is definitely underrated. Like I said, where I live, they are overrated. I don't know about the rest of the world.
  8. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Mar 26 2012, 04:01 PM) Might get flamed...but these are mine: Rolling Stones Aerosmith Bon Jovi U2 ...to name a few! I'll agree on U2. I love them, but they aren't nearly as good as everyone makes them out to be. I swear, Bono is more popular then God.
  9. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Mar 26 2012, 03:45 PM) QUOTE (Archangel717 @ Mar 26 2012, 04:42 PM) CCR I like a song or two, but I don't think they're as amazing as people say they are The great Creedence Clearwater Revival is underrated! Song after song, album after album, it's great rock and roll - almost all of it. Where I live, it's kind of overrated. All of my friends love classic rock, and they all love CCR.

  17. QUOTE (Boots @ Mar 24 2012, 03:51 PM) I have no interest in this series whatsoever. Seems like a bunch of BS. I hate the distopic apocalyptic storyline. I also hate the character names. I just find this whole thing so stupid. Isn't it just a ripoff of Stephen King's book The Running Man? Next. No, it's more like Gladiator crossed with lord of the flies. It's definately worth reading. Very well written, great storyline, and well developed characters. I'd at least read the first one before judging the series so harshly.
  18. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Mar 26 2012, 11:52 AM) Jeans. All the time. Well, unless it's *really* hot out, then I'll wear cargo shorts or something. I don't pay attention to the cut of the jeans, I just grab my size off the shelf and go. Never, ever sweatpants. Never dress pants or slacks unless I'm going somewhere I'm not allowed to wear jeans, which is very rare, even when I'm traveling on business. I can't wear jeans at my job. I would never wear slacks around in my day to day life... but they are comfy as hell for work. It's almost like not wearing pants.
  19. Leisure: Sweats Normal: Straight cut and skinny jeans Work: Slacks & Khakis
  20. QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Mar 26 2012, 07:04 AM) QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Mar 24 2012, 12:20 PM) While a minor quibble, I have to say the character's names are terrible. All of them sound like "your fantasy name" generator outputs. Catniss Everdeen? Peeta Mellark? Haymitch Abernathy? Yikes! I gotta' agree. Sometimes when the author goes too far out of the way to come up with abnormal-sounding names you get generically stupid ones instead. It's set in the future on EARTH, not another planet. By God, call them Catherine, Peter, and Bob next time. To be fair, Katniss' dad named her after the Katniss plant. But I agree with Peeta, and a few of the other names lol
  21. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Mar 26 2012, 11:20 AM) QUOTE (Archangel717 @ Mar 26 2012, 11:02 AM) I'm prepping for every disaster situation. Hey, it is 2012 afterall! I'm getting a zombie kit, and a Red Dawn kit going. Let's face it, zombies are going to happen, and when those Koreans invade, I'll be the one fighting them off from the mountains. On a serious note, if anyone has an android based device, there's a free app I got that is perfect for survival prep. US Army survival Guide Excellent info, thanks! You can find lots of free survival aps for your android, including morse code. Do a search and install them 'cause you never know. We prepper/survivalist types make a lot of jokes about zombies, but they will be, in a sense, real. Look at it this way. The zombies aren't going to be actual undead types, the zombies are gonna be the folks who didn't prepare for teotwawki (the end of the world as we know it) so if it happens, they're gonna be coming after those who did prepare to get their stuff. So make a plan and start prepping now as it's better to have it and not need it than it is to need it and not have it! Fortune favors the prepared so stay that way! Yeah, my rule of thumb, is to have guns that fire ammo that you can find everywhere. (9mm, .22LR, 12 gauge, 7.62X39, 5.56, 7.62X54 etc) Also, it can never hurt to have a zombie apocolypse survival plan
