  2. QUOTE (metaldad @ Apr 21 2010, 03:38 PM) This is the most excited i have been for a Rush tour in a long time. Seriously EXACTLY! This has the potential to be one of their most memorable tours, should be freaking awesome!!! I KNEW they'd play Jacob's Ladder, YES!
  3. QUOTE (PariahDog @ Apr 20 2010, 01:36 PM) My guess (and hope) is that they will play MP to start the second set, in the same order as the album, with no drum solo during YYZ. Only caveat is, I think this would be tough for Neil. Even coming off an intermission, and with no drum solo, I'd imagine TS/RB/YYZ/LL all in a row will be pretty tough to pull off (endurance-wise). My guess is Moving Pictures will come at the end of the 1st set, but who knows! Should be a lot of great surprises on this tour, can't wait!
  4. Since they're showcasing Moving Pictures in its entirety I'm assuming they'll leave YYZ as is and the drum solo will follow MalNar like last tour.
  5. This is a great thread! My 75 year old dad is a writer and reporter so recently I asked him if he'd be interested in reading Neil Peart's Roadshow. He thoroughly enjoyed it and he even bought The Spirit of Radio Greatest Hits CD! It meant a lot to me that he'd take the time to read a book about something that's so important to me, and I'm glad that he now really knows that is not the typical rock band. I'm sure he'd go with me to see them in concert again.
  6. Got a pre-sale ticket earlier today for the Dallas show. They went on sale at 10:00. Right at 10:00 I clicked in and didn't really like the seat they offered so I let it go. I got right back on to request another seat and it said tickets were no longer available! This was at 10:01! I panicked for a minute but figured if I was patient and kept checking something would pop up. About 15 minutes later seats were popping back up. I finally settled on the 18th row, center section. I'm pumped! I was also checking the VIP section on Ticketmaster for $300+ dollars. I figured if I could get front row center I'd cough it up, but I never saw anything better than the 5th row. So I saved a couple hundred bucks by sitting 13 rows further back. The ticket prices are pretty steep, my total came out to $125.50 for 1 ticket. But who cares, I've got a great seat for , that's all that matters. HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Nice idea but I bet they do something with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel from "I Love You, Man."
  8. I noticed pre-sales are now available on the website. I looked at a few venues just to see what kind of seats were available. The best I found were about 20 rows back. I'm in Dallas and they won't play here until the back end of the tour and the pre-sale isn't available here yet. To be honest if I find a 20th row seat for face value at my local venue I'll be pumped! Has anyone bought a pre-sale ticket today and if so where are the seats?
  9. I LOVE the intro videos, every one they've ever made, especially from the last few tours. They're hilarious and very well done. Big Al should be nominated for some kind of award for his performances! I can't believe all the hate for Bob and Doug!! I thought it was awesome. The Great White North album was really a kind of counterpart (pardon the pun) to Moving Pictures for me at the time.
  10. QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Apr 9 2010, 05:28 PM) they will play three. Far Cry, Workin Them Angels and Malnar. My thought exactly!
  11. I don't think they'll bring the 3 Stooges back because their intro videos have become major productions. It just wouldn't fit in with what their presentation has evolved into. Don't get me wrong, I would love it, especially if they went right into The Big Money, that ruled!
  12. I think they'll leave YYZ as is since they're showcasing Moving Pictures. My bet is the drum solo will be in the 2nd set after Mal Nar like on the last tour.
  13. Pretty sure we'll be hearing Closer to the Heart on this tour.
  14. QUOTE (The Main Monkey Business @ Apr 1 2010, 08:16 AM) agree completely, i could just see Paul Rudd on a huge screen saying "i'm slappin da bass mon" and then geddy opening with some epic bass line - would work perfectly. No matter who or what are in their videos they will be awesome - I wonder if they have spoken to John Cleese again???? I cannot wait Pardon my ignorance but what is the story with John Cleese?
  15. The intro videos during the last few tours have been awesome so I expect the same on the next tour. I'm sure they'll do something with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel from I Love You, Man. Maybe they'll do the scene with Paul Rudd while he's trying to describe to his fiance. "I slap-a-da-bass man!" I'm sure there will be some surprises with the videos but I think I Love You, Man will definitely be a major player.
  16. Anything as long as it's not called The Farewell Tour.
  17. I've never been to a meet and greet but I did ambush Geddy at a Texas Rangers baseball game a few years ago. He couldn't have been nicer. I kind of felt bad for getting in his face because they must hate that kind of thing, but he was very cool. I'm sure he and Alex will be even more accommodating at a meet and greet. Have fun and try to think of something clever to say to them, not just the usual "Oh my God you guys are the greatest....." I'm sure they've heard that 50,000 times (even though it's true!)
  18. Many times I've commented to a friend about a rug of theirs. I'll say, "it really ties the room together." They usually look at me like I'm from Mars. Every once-in-a-while someone will get it, only problem is they still look at me like I'm from Mars.
  19. Excellent movie, extremely ambitious. Ambitious doesn't always mean good, but this one is both. Very disturbing, great cast, awesome artistic style.
  20. Great movie. I watched it for about the 5th time recently. My favorite scene is when they're at the Dude's landlord's one-man-interpretative-dance show. The way that guy dances just makes me rotf every time I see it. I know that's an obscure scene from a movie with many memorable moments-that's just me! P.S. Rush rules.
  21. HYF is my favorite album. Force 10 is one of their best ever. To me it's their "coming-of-age" album. It sounds like it was made by adults.
  22. Digital Man is my favorite Rush song ever. The guitars are awesome, the bass line before and during the guitar solo is some of Ged's best work ever, the lyrics are classic, the drumming could only be pulled off by the greatest drummer ever- What's not to love?
