  1. As a pub quiz regular, the only advice I'd offer in a game like this is "Beware the potential for multiple correct answers". CONSTANT CHANGE is also all upper case. Physics, I'd suggest that you put in more info into the question ie - Which member who registered in August 2004 and has over 2,800 posts has a screen name all in upercase letters?. That avoids ambiguity. The reality is there's probably a few hundred people who registered and never posted with all uppercase names.
  2. Rolinda, as we all know, is an accountant, a career born obviously out of a keen aptitude for numbers. Could it be that she was inspired by a character encountered in her childhood? Someone with whom she was familiar from a very young age. http://pbskids.org/sesame/images/count_05.gif And if so, does she share his characteristics? Imagine, if you will, a scenario. There's a TRF convention, all the members are present. Rolinda goes for a walk, and hears the sound of a string quartet. Upon further investigation, she sees Slaine, Digital Man, 1-0-0-1-0-0-1 and Barney, all of them playing cellos. They looked up, and imploringly asked her not to mention this to anyone, as they wanted to keep their classical hobby a secret. Rolinda, reverting to her favourite childhood game intones in a deep and sonorous voice - One cello player (thunderbolt), Two cello players (thunderbolt) etc. Effectively - Rolinda Counted Shy TRF Cello Geeks
  3. QUOTE (Rolinda Bonz @ Oct 5 2005, 03:43 AM) it gives me goosebumps Goosebumps eh? A feeling of euphoria, a feeling of delight in your well being? Me too. I guess we still feel that elation Ah well, better get back to it
  4. I don't have any of their albums, but once when I was a panelist on a teenage discussion show on Irish radio (before getting into it myself - I was a school nominee), I picked Sweet Emotion as my favourite song to be played. I'd got it on one of the K-Tel "Axe Attack" albums. About six months later, I heard some high pitched guy caterwauling about invisible airwaves, and my fate was sealed.......
  5. QUOTE (Modest Man From Mandrake @ Oct 4 2005, 01:43 AM) Also there is a Country song I don't remember Who the band is but the chorus goes. Every little thing that you do Baby I'm Amazed by you. I think they're called Lonestar Good call on Twist and Shout/ La Bamba
  6. Dave Allen http://www.nostalgiacentral.com/images_tv/da13.jpg One of the greats - I was lucky to see him doing his show at the Allbery Theatre in London in 1987. He died in March this year. More Info Hope that clears things up MSC - Goodnight, and may your God go with you!!
  7. Oh dear, my brain is on holiday. Best I can come up with is a reference to the time Alex was cracking jokes about Geddy, and Ged got the hump and attacked him Lee Hit Al's Wit, Tone Fell Can I just say I think Rolinda is a wonderful person, and such an asset to the forum, especially when she offers clues to Scrambles which are especially difficult for mere mortals like us because they've been constructed in her clearly superior brain.
  8. Another obvious one I've forgotten to mention is The Jam - Start / The Beatles - Taxman and is it possible to listen to the closing section of the album version of Lenny Kravitz's Let Love Rule without going "Na, na na nanananaa nanananaa Hey Juuuude"?. I was at a Hayseed Dixie gig last week (I must write about that, sheer class), and when they kicked off their version of Green Day's 'Holiday', it sounded just like Iggy Pop's 'The Passenger'.
  9. 15 I'll be back with a plethora of excuses as soon as I've thought of them!!
  10. QUOTE (pedro2112 @ Oct 3 2005, 03:27 PM) It seems clear that the "Mr. Paik is behind it" theory is as plausable as a screen door on a submarine. I fully expect to see a submarine with a screen door by Episode 10 of the current series!!!.
  11. I'm beginning to formulate a theory. I think Sun's father (Mr Paik), is at the heart of this, and a number of the survivors were specifially chosen for the trip as a form of experimentation. Hear me out. Jin was on the flight to deliver a watch to Californa ; Sun was not supposed to be on it, but changed her mind at the last moment. Could it be that Mr Paik masterminded the english lessons and the plan to get her out of the airport?. Apparently, the logo on Desmond's shirt and on the shark is from the i-ching, which has more credence/popularity in the East than the West. Numerology is also important in many cultures, and the numbers are everywhere. The only survivor actually killed by the 'monster' was the pilot, the one person who could give expert testimony on how the radio was affected and the plane went off course. More importantly, he most likely could have worked out the coordinates of where they were. A monster, by definition, is indiscriminate in who/what it attacks. The fact that the one person in a position to determine geographic information about the island is the only one killed is too much of a coincidence for me. Desmond mentioned an illness, as did Danielle (Russo). Is he aware of her presence on the island, how long has he been there? (I've considered freezing it on the wall markings and counting them, but life's too short!!!!). There's also the issue of his meeting Jack in the stadium. That's a bit too much of a coincidence as well. It's becoming clear there's some form of experiment going on on the island -I'm becoming convinced that Mr Paik is intrinsically involved in it. Then again, I may be talking bollocks.

  20. It's a little known fact that when on tour, the members of Rush are keen bog snorkellers and potholers, liking to do nothing more than descend into bogs and caves. Years of touring mean they've amassed an encyclopaedic knowledge of caves and bogs around the world, and this is to be the subject of Neil's next book. The news, when it eventually appears on rush.com will be carried under the headline Neil To Show Prime Holes
