QUOTE (PolarizeMe @ Jul 18 2012, 09:25 PM) QUOTE (Mika @ Jul 18 2012, 04:04 AM) QUOTE (mazyyz @ Jul 17 2012, 10:40 PM) QUOTE (Ancient Ways @ Jul 17 2012, 09:00 PM) QUOTE (sdhonda @ Jul 17 2012, 08:25 PM) You guys do realize that they have only missed YYZ on one tour (RTB), right? The chances of it appearing are closer to 80-90% forgot about that. never know. they may add a different instrumental. Like "Where's My Thing?" Yes! I was just about to say this same thing. If they could play 'Where's My Thing?' with the ethereal opening they did on the Roll the Bones tour, that would just be awesome. I would gladly have this traded in place of 'YYZ'! If they play Where's My Thing with that intro they did for the RTB tour, it'll definitely be one of the highlights of the tour, at least for me. definitely a bathroom/beer break for me or maybe catch a cat nap for a few minutes.
  2. QUOTE (Pound of Obscure @ Jul 18 2012, 11:44 AM) QUOTE (briremo @ Jul 18 2012, 09:45 AM) A small ensemble used sparingly in songs that are recorded with strings is completely appropriate and will add to the overall experience, not distract or damage it. I don't know. For ballads and strings, I hear Barry Manilow is on tour. barry manilow is a great melodic singer and ok in my book.
  3. spindrift and the wreckers both give me the same feeling.
  4. QUOTE (Sathington WillOUghby @ Jul 18 2012, 02:54 PM) I want... Here Again - So Al can finally get to solo Cygnus X-1/Hemispheres - Long over due 7 Cities of Gold - Ged wants to throw down this bass line live that would be nice.
  5. QUOTE (GUP1771 @ Jul 18 2012, 02:22 PM) QUOTE (sdhonda @ Jul 17 2012, 11:08 PM)QUOTE (Snow-Dog2112 @ Jul 17 2012, 10:39 PM) Alright ladies and gents, lets see what we have so far on a setlist for the one and only... Clockwork Angels tour. 1. Caravan- Pretty much guaranteed, One of the two songs released back in 2010 (Has it really been that long?). We should look forward to seeing this one played. 2. BU2B- Like Caravan, Pretty much guaranteed. 3. The Wreckers- Awesome song, since plastered on the front of the album, will most likely get played 4. Headlong Flight- Same reasons as The Wreckers, and also since it was the first single released 5. Jacobs Ladder....mabey- Al's been talking about playing this one, but we never know if he's a reliable source or not ;P 6. Losing It- Seems likely to happen, seeing as they're playing with the orchestra 7. Marathon- Same reasons as Losing It 8. A Farewell To Kings- Ged's talked about trying this out in rehearsals for the past few tours, mabey they'll work it out by then 9. Tom Sawyer- Never went a tour without it. Then again, Iron Maiden went without playing Hallowed Be Thy Name on the tour they're currently on 10. The Garden- They seem real proud of this one, wouldn't make sense if they didn't play it. So what are your ten songs? *sigh* Dude, electic violin =/= orchstra/string section. Very different things. Also, The Garden is still kinda iffy, what with the piano issue. 50/50 in my book. I don't think any bass is played during that part, so Geddy could easily play that piano interlude. I believe The Garden is one of the major reasons for bringing a small string section out on the road. don't play the garden and you won't have to bring the orchestra or string section on the road. problem solved.
  6. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jul 18 2012, 01:11 PM) I just tried to listen to a little S&A agian, i threw up in my mouth a bit i know it's tough to keep food down.
  7. absolutely dreadful and painful to listen to. the first 20 seconds are ok but than it quickly turns into an unpleasant pile of waste.
  8. i hope there's an instrumental on there similar to losfer words.
  9. QUOTE (GeddysMullet @ Jul 18 2012, 10:51 AM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Jul 18 2012, 11:46 AM) Maybe what Neil is really telling us when he says "It is what it is" is to accept whatever Rush shovels to us. Fucksake. No. He's saying "We make the music we want to make, always have, always will. Take it or leave it." they couldn't have done it without us, and i've put up with more more than a few of their clunkers.
  10. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 18 2012, 11:09 AM) they'll probably play maximum of 3 from mp possibly 2, and that would free up alot of setlist space. than again they'll be playing a large portion of the new album which will eat up alot of space.

  12. i'm very interested in giving this a listen but looking at a few of the song titles, i wonder if steve's been hanging out with neil lately.
  13. QUOTE (Pound of Obscure @ Jul 18 2012, 08:56 AM) QUOTE (hermy @ Jul 17 2012, 03:40 PM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Jul 16 2012, 03:08 PM)String Orchestra = Bad Idea Might as well try going unplugged and wearing MTV shirts. They're running out of novel ideas, plain and simple. Using the term "String Orchestra" is a bad idea.... Alex said two chellos and the rest violins. 8 people in the back of the stage. A Far Cry from an orchestra. We either get songs like the Garden with triggers or the route they took. I for one can't wait for opening night! A better solution then adding strings would be to not play The Garden. A song sure to empty the arena. i like that solution.
  14. QUOTE (Merely Space @ Jul 18 2012, 08:00 AM) I don't think so. I don't find Caravan and BU2B to be markedly superior to the rest of the album. far from it imo. i don't even like the songs.
  15. QUOTE (spock @ Jul 18 2012, 09:07 AM) So, my personal theory is that they WANTED to make an album and had to do the Time Machine tour to generate the funds to actually do it - the payoff being the CA album & tour revenue. it was definitely a money maker and touring is where they make the money. that whole thing about them saying they wanted to warm up their chops to create the new album was a bunch of bs.
  16. i've lost a few more hairs i think i'm.. i'm going bald I THINK I'M GOING BALD!!!!!!!!!! such a kick ass song and i don't care what anybody thinks about it.

I think it's the BEST song on the album... Sorry dude, I can't get past those lyrics. It's a metal gem!

It only cut the show down from a 100% to a 99.99 yea but how can they play, can i play with madness, which is a big piece of excrement, and not play hallowed be thy name, which is arguably one of their best songs?

  20. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Jul 17 2012, 01:39 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 17 2012, 10:50 AM) QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Jul 17 2012, 10:38 AM) After tonight i'm full convinced that they don't even turn on Jannick's guitar. did he sport his guitar twirling skills? the only reason they keep this guy is because he's a friend of bruce. that and because he was part of a few maiden albums, and they're being nice by not kicking him off the bus. Yes, he displayed his amazing guitar twirling skills. He also showed how awesome he is at doing leg stretches on the side panel. He also, displayed great talent when he did his tribute to Riverdance by stomping his feet on stage and spinning in circles On a serious note, like I said i my review, the best thing was me standing closer to Dave and Adrian's side of the stage and seeing them play together from 20 feet away. Those two are amazing and I get the vibe that they don't even like playing with Jannick. Every time i've seen them there is very little interaction with him but Dave and Adrian are brothers on that stage. They have these small interactions with each other during the shows and when you see it you just know how much they love playing together. you were lucky to be closer to adrian and dave. i like being on steve harris' side but there's a price to pay with jannick destracting you. i sat on harris' side for the a matter of life and death show, and gers was incredibly annoying, plus the show sucked.
