  1. I think I'll reserve any individual track-by-track commentary and just make a few observations with each of your milestone posts. QUOTE (Deckiller @ Aug 27 2010, 11:56 PM) 156. You Can't Fight It 155. Rivendell 154. Dog Years 153. Take a Friend 152. Madrigal 151. I Think I'm Going Bald 150. You Bet Your Life 149. What You're Doing 148. How It Is 147. Virtuality ^ You've got some of the best of the worst in there, for sure (Dog Years and Virtuality are 'worst Rush song' all stars.) But even though it's early in the game, I'm already not sure if I can 'trust' a Rush fan that rates Take A Friend and What You're Doing below most of Roll The Bones (Neurotica? Face Up? fu#%ing Big Wheel?), half of T4E (including Half The World, Color Of Right) and at least four tracks from S&A (Hope is the definition of a 'throwaway' Rush track, even if you like it.) Well. Let's see what your next ten are like. Maybe you'll redeem yourself.
  2. Deck. I commend you for your 'bravery' in attempting a thread of such epic proportions... ...but it's going to be a complete mess. As each Rush fan is (of course) unique, so are each fans' 'worst to best' lists. You'll get as many 'WTF!!!''s as you will 'Dude! I totally agree!!!''s Regardless, I still find it interesting how fans rate the complete Rush catalog. In other words, carry on...
  3. QUOTE (Enemy Within 77 @ Aug 26 2010, 01:01 AM) Phil Collins under-rated singer from 1976-1983 honestly, one of the best
  4. QUOTE (Jake2112 @ Aug 25 2010, 07:29 PM) Adrian Belew (King Crimson... the man can write songs though) nah, Adrian is fine in fact, he's the best vocalist KC have ever had a nice mix of Todd Rundgren and David Byrne (without the schmaltz of the former or the aloofness of the latter)
  5. "Bad singing" ^ the irony of this type of thread on a Rush messageboard should be lost on no one
  6. I've seen every Rush album through p/g (!) on 8-track. Interestingly, the Rush 8-tracks are rather hard to find. I'm a 'dead technology' junkie, so I have scored a few high end 8-track player/recorder consoles in my time, and you know what? Regardless of brand/quality, the format itself is horrible. It is amusing to have a Wollensak component 8-track player in amongst the A/V stack in the living room, along with a rack of a dozen 8-track tapes next to the CD's and DVD's - but after the first 'ka-chink!' in the middle of 'La Villa' the fun is over... [there's a lovely gap in 'Hemispheres' as well - check it out...] http://www.8-track-shack.com/images/Untitled-10%20copy070427.jpg

  10. QUOTE (fool4rush @ Aug 20 2010, 09:49 AM)indeed, thru my sobbing I recall him saying "Rush has stalkers" Maybe so, but they happen to know w/out a doubt that I'm not one of them... Who is 'they', F4R? The security guards or the bandmembers' themselves?

  12. QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Aug 20 2010, 06:15 AM) They were real, and they were right there where I usually grabbed them... in my pants! Of course, I looked around quickly to make sure no one was watching.

  17. wow... just too many to list - some off the top of my head: Jason Falkner opening for Suzanne Vega ^ I was equally as interested in both artists Michael Penn opening for Aimee Mann ^ ditto Rachel's opening for PJ Harvey ^ triple ditto Buckethead opening for Incubus and Primus ^ I was only there for Buckethead - I would've stayed for Primus (mildly interested) but the crowd was so stupid by the time Incubus took the stage I had to step out - no choice Mastodon opening for Clutch ^ I'm very picky with my Mastodon (a lot of it is just too silly) but it's always an epic thrill to watch Dailor on the drums (especially at a tiny club) - Clutch were 'good' but I wasn't there for them 5ive Style opening for Sea & Cake and Tortoise ^ I went for 5ive Style (instrumental trio) and they kicked all kinds of ass - Sea & Cake were underwhelming, not good (tone-deaf singer) but I really like them on record... and Tortoise were so boring I left half-way through The Grays opening for Toad The Wet Sprocket ^ Jason Falkner's short-lived band with Jon Brion - colossal (and as close to Jellyfish as I was ever going to get ) ...wow - that's more than I thought I'd bring to mind
  18. Apparently, you forgot: Geddy Lee is a Jew. This f*ckin' guy...... wait - you're not Jewish, too - are you?
