  1. Ok I was bored. http://i57.tinypic.com/2uha9o7.jpg
  2. Many handsome boy bands are underrated, It's not fair!
  3. Drafted must be one of the most beautiful pop songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOmzfN3Zi4Y
  4. Maybe not "pile of shite" but I agree they're a bit boring albums. A few good tunes in them though. Listen to that "Electricland" that I linked a few posts above. That's a great song.
  5. I refuse to answer that question as there seems to be many sensitive people on this board. Xanadood might go apeshit again. "HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT. THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER WITH THE MAKEUP. GENE WAS SPITTING SO MUCH MORE BLOOD WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER! IT'S THE MUSICAL TRUTH!" :D
  6. Wow...you woke up again.....the chloroform wore off....huh? Oh yeah.,.. Eddie Van Halen, arguably the best guitarist in the world could never match the world famous Kerry King in speedy playing. If a Slayer fan wouldn't like Big Fat Money... well... that definitely gives your opinion some substance. NOT. Who gives a flying f**k about Slayer and its fans? What about Karen Carpenter fans... do you think they'd like it? According to many resources speed metal originated in the 70's. A blithering idiot like you can have his OWN idea of "the one and only speed metal" but it has nothing to do this discussion. Big Fat Money is very fast song and closest to speed metal of any Van Halen songs. That was the point. Capiche? I'd much rather test your IQ. You're probably so-called "half genius" (an IQ of 75). :D
  7. Speed metal is a subgenre of heavy metal music that originated in the late 1970s from New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) roots. It is described by AllMusic as "extremely fast, abrasive, and technically demanding" music. "It is usually considered less abrasive and more melodic than thrash metal, showing less influence from hardcore punk. However, speed metal is usually faster and more aggressive than traditional heavy metal, also showing more inclination to virtuoso soloing and featuring short instrumental passages between couplets. Speed metal songs frequently make use of highly expressive vocals, but are usually less likely to employ 'harsh' vocals than thrash metal songs What exactly in "Big Fat Money" doesn't fall into this category? Of course you can't explain... cause your neanderthal brain is full...and now you have to go purge it.....to give you some more cranial capacity. Try something like "BIG F47 MON3Y SUX, D4V3 IS COOL 4ND 54MMY SUX." I would have liked to insult you more, but the sad truth is that you wouldn't understand me. I bid you a fair adieu.......until we meet again.
  8. Big Fat Money is almost speed metal?! Wow. Ok Yes... it indeed has some elements from speed/trash metal from that era... Anthrax, etc. Of course you don't have any musical arguments this time, either. It's clear to me that you have the brain of a four-year-old boy, and I bet he was sure glad to get rid of it. I think you might have a condition known as Optical Rectalitus.....that's where the nerve in the eye crosses the nerve in the rectum......it gives you such a shitty outlook on life. :D http://arrogantass.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/head_up_ass.jpg
  9. They were, indeed, two different bands. Like Rush's 2112 and Hold Your Fire. The music developed SO much between those records. Some think it got to worse, some don't. Most real VH fans (that I know) appreciate both eras. Balance is very good album. The Seventh Seal, Take Me Back (reminds me a bit of Led Zep's Going to California), Feelin are amazing songs... I also love "funkish" Amsterdam and Big Fat Money (almost speedmetal). Aftershock and Can't Stop Lovin' You are mediocre fillers though. It was Eddie who wanted to take the band to more melodic direction, not Sammy. They couldn't do stuff like "When it's Love" with Roths vocal range. I understand if some people consider that kind of "Journeyish" material a bit "cheesy". But personally I love that stuff... Dreams and Love Walks are also among the best rock ballads ever. Based on the comments here I have a feeling some people haven't even given these Hagar albums a fair chance. Labeling them just "shit" is braindead. I'm sure you can do better than that. ;)
  10. Yeah... I felt the dagger......I got savaged by a man with cotton wool for a brain....! :D When he's finished with me he's going to save the world with his Playstation.
  11. Video from Presto tour. Not the greatest quality but not the worst, either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VoFmCocTs0
  12. "Musical truths"? For F**cks sake...!! I'm a "clown" because I like Balance? Now you've offended me.. I am cut to the bone. What's next? Hit me over the head with a wet fish and call me Nancy?. It seems to me you need to release some of that testosterone... you sound like a refugee from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Too long cooped up in a log cabin........with photos of "wimmin" from the Internet tucked under yer pillow... :D
  13. You are wrong on so many levels. The sober issue is moot. Eddie was more innovative and technically superior during his hard partying days than he was in 95. The live right here for unlawful f*ckin awful versions of van halen classics tour features eddie at his bloated , going through the motions self. He was a borderline parody of the style he brought to the guitar world by that point. "You are wrong"? It's called "music taste" you know... it's also an "opinion". If you can't respect that, then it's your problem and I think you should grow up. Personally, I also think Roth is absolutely awful live. I can't watch those early 80's performances at all (because of him). He's absolutely terrible singer. I like the the Roth-era studio albums though... they somehow managed to "fix" his singing in the studio... I'm not putting down the Roth-era. I, II (partially) and Fair Warning are very good... but 5150, f**k and Balance are better, imho. Your opinion sucks . It's laughable you keep going back to that lame ass feelin tune. 5150 is better than the mighty Van Halen 1? How am I supposed to take you seriously? You don't get it do you? I can see that you are flirting with intelligence but getting the cold shoulder in return....you're not quite up to the task of grasping this....are you....but still I suppose I should have some sympathy for your handicap.....you're obviously paralyzed from the neck up.....either that or you must be the kind of person who gets a charge out of pissing on electric fences. It's called "music taste". Just like old Rush vs. new Rush.

  15. Feelin' might have Eddie's best solo ever. If you can't appreciate this then... well... too bad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvNPI0G2Lys
  16. With all due respect: Bullshit. Balance isn't a perfect album but Eddie never sounded so good and he was completely soberb for years back then... his playing in "Feelin'" is the best I've heard. That's almost a progressive song. I acknowledge that this forum has a lot of guys that are in their 50's and they can't see it objectively beacause "they grew up with" the band in the early 80's. So I'm in the minority... but that's not the case with all Van Halen fans. There are a lot of Sammy fans and a LOT of people who prefer that era easily over Dave's time. Diver Down, on the other hand, is the worst of DLR-era albums. Hang 'Em High might be a gem of that album though. Live: Right Here, Right Now is superb. Van Halen was musically and vocally in their prime during that era, imho. This absolutely kicks arse... Roth could never have sung most of these songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdBqQ_ZA2Os
  17. Wow... so much hate. I don't get it. Rush is one of the most skilled rock bands ever. So I would have thought that Rush fans could appreciate DMB's musical abilities. They're all excellent musicians and Carter Beauford is very good drummer. It's just different music. But I agree the last two new albums and "Stand Up" were bad. Listen to "Live in Chicago". It's excellent. I'm a DMB fan. They're almost completely unknown here in Europe though. :)
  18. Bands like Stones can play when they're in their 70's. Or Eagles. They're not playing music that's so demanding. I'm amazed how well Rush has been playing. Time Machine DVD is excellent, despite Geddy's voice. They must be in quite good shape for 60-year olds. But I'd rather see them go out when they're still good. I'm a HUGE Van Halen fan. Huge. They're almost as important to me as Rush... and watching footage from the 2012 tour with Roth was painful. I mean it was just shit. Roth looked and acted like Elmer Fudd having an Alzheimer's disease... and his singing went from awful to absolutely horrendous. I'd never want to see Rush embarrassing themselves and going out like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcOWTwqasbY
  19. Let's be honest: Geddy didn't sound "great" last tour and the Time Machine tour. He can handle some songs but anything that required high notes, he didn't sound good. His voice isn't in great condition. But look at the bright side... even at this condition he's much better singer than David Lee Roth ever was. :D
  20. No new singer. Never. I'd rather see them calling it a day instead.
  21. Even the worst Rush songs are million times better than the stuff you usually hear from the radio.
  22. Keep 'em, coming guys. Great stuff! As you already know (or don't know) I'm a HUGE Van Halen fan. I belong to the minority and love esp. the Hagar-era. This is probably the best ever Van Halen song. Well, my favorite anyway. :D It probably has my all time favorite guitar by Eddie and incredible vocals by Sammy. That guitar in the end is just breathtaking. Eddie is simply the best ever without a doubt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6ZEWDdLsuA
  23. Starless is the absolute PINNACLE of King Crimson's career, imho. It's what Stairway is to Zep... or Paranoid to Sabbath... or Bohemian Rhapsody to Queen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN7hWAfbI28
