  1. Isn't the Blu Ray in widescreen? The DVD plays in the middle of my screen.
  2. The original video was compressed to fit on one DVD. Most likely they just returned to the source material and re-rendered/re-authored from there.
  3. There's a whole audio bootleg from the T4E tour of just Alex vocals. IIRC they honed on to his mic with a CB radio or a scanner, whatever that is, or something to that effect. I might be just making that part up.
  4. QUOTE (Fridge @ Jan 27 2009, 07:00 PM) It's still shit
  5. QUOTE (jnoble @ Mar 23 2008, 12:45 AM) This song sucks. I can't deal with Geddy's annoying 'ENDLESSLY ROOOOCKING!!! ENDLESSLY ROOCKKINGGG' screaming during the chorus. It also doesn't help that, like the rest of the album, it's too damn loud I think that part with all the yelling is reminiscent of old school Geddy.
  6. QUOTE (Necromancer @ Mar 9 2008, 01:30 PM) Well, if you're following my thread about Snakes and Arrows, you'd know that I feel it's a steril, adult contemporary cd. And while it's a brilliant one, it doesn't have the balls that VT has. So I go with VT. The flak about VT being produced badly doesn't take away from how good the music is on this. Even without Alex soloing like I would like him to do, the riffs and lyrics kick so much ass that I can get past the lack of Alex soloing. Maybe I'm just sick of SnA cuz CeeJ plays it so damn much. Adult Contemporary CD? Is this thread about Presto?
  7. QUOTE (Ghost of a Rider @ Jun 8 2007, 11:47 PM) I couldn't even finish watching or listening to it after about five minutes. What a fruitcake. This^^^^
  8. Whoa, that must have sounded different...
  9. I think I read in a FAQ or something that Ged was playing that prink on Alex by not singing his line, therefore not cueing Alex to play his part, but Alex played it anyway. IDK... 125:In the A Show Of Hands video, has anybody noticed that Alex's guitar keeps changing? Yes. This has been discussed several times in TNMS. The A Show Of Hands video was filmed during a 3-night concert series at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England. Test footage was shot the first night. The majority of the video comes from the second night, but several shots were used from the third night's performance. In some cases, this was because the shots taken on the second night weren't quite right, but in a few places, like the beginning of 2112, it was Geddy having fun in the editing stage. Yes, Alex does break a string at the end of "Tom Sawyer," but the guitar changes more than once, so it isn't just Alex swapping in a new guitar. http://www.nimitz.net/rush/faq3ans.html#121 But we know from watching Rio that Alex changes guitars a billion times a show.
  10. What's this song saying? "We're aging?"
  11. It's one of the more uplifting songs on an other wise dark album, at least for the most part. It's really catching. I love the lines about the breath of electricity and all that jazz. Oh, and Geddy's intonation is great, he sounds not only happy, but... it's puts a really odd euphoric picture in my head... an electric... aura orb thingy.. it's pretty sweet!
  12. A Lifeson solo would rule. A Ged solo doesn't sound too interesting to me.
  13. Neil could never do anything like the drumming in "Rock and Roll"
  14. His tones kind of remind me of MFH off of MFH... I think that bass he uses is TOO strong and deep for some of the songs.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Br9rrE0Eiw They made a mistake not put that on CD. I like Geddy's delervery "The kill each other for the color of your shirt" part.
  16. hmmm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flea_%28musician%29
  17. I like that crazy form RHCP...
  18. Ugh. Buy the studio album, then. Or Exit Stage Edited or just chill with Replay for a while.
  19. I know I get a special when I watch the entire start of the DVD through 'Sawyer' with the crowd chanting.
  20. The bass he used on ESL was perfect!
  21. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Oct 16 2006, 05:14 PM) QUOTE (Grace2Grace @ Oct 16 2006, 03:52 PM) Sorry to n00b up your topic, but was the Ric the one used on GUP tour video? I thought it sounded great, but a little low. He played a Steinberger for that one album and tour; the little "headless" bass without punch. Oh. What was the MPs verison of Limelight recored with? And wow... some much hate for the Rio crowd. From what I hear Spanish (as in Spain) and South American crowds get like thatfor rock concerts. I think it's a little sad when the crowd can't be hear except for a few "pops" when a song starts.
