I'm on mobile so I don't have time to look through some of these posts, but I just wanna say that I don't think RUSH has ever "jumped the shark" ... RUSH has always done what they wanted to do... and they've been passionate it. They never do something if they don't feel it... necver done anything to please the "mainstream"... never been desperate for that.

I remember thinking "how lucky for these folks to get on stage" and "just how the heck DOES one get on stage anyway??". Nice vids as well. Interesting watching the songs from a different perspective...like you filming Geddy going to the other side of the stage during YYZ when at that point he was standing right in front of me! I took a few vids as well from my blackberry, but the sound is complete and utter crap. The bass cabs I was standing in front of completely crushed the audio capabilities of the smartphone. TMD Glad you like the vids. I have a LOT of concert photos coming soon. A lil busy now, but once I have more time to mess with it, they'll all be posted. Great show, huh?

PRE-SHOW For this show, I was going, my sister was going, my grandpa, our step-dad, and my four friends. We left around 5, heading out to the Charter One Pavilion. Once we got there, nervousness and anticipation ran high. We were near the back gates, by all the tour buses. Then my friend, and RUSH security guard, Michael came out and he led me to the back, inside of the gates. I walked passed his and Neil's motorcycles in the little trailer they have, and then walked up some stairs where a bunch of RUSH crew members were. I got a V.I.P. pass, then was brought up on stage, where I took a few small video clips from my phone and got one of the biggest gifts ever... CLICK HERE FOR PICTURE. I also met Alex's guitar tech. for a moment, and then once the stage tour was over, I was brought down to the main floor, where I got a wristband to watch the show right at the barricade again. So, I picked Ged's side this time since last time I was on Alex's. I got a stance right in front of his keyboards! THE SHOW FIRST SET: The last few minutes of agonizing anticipation are always the worst. You know it's going to happen any moment, but you don't know exactly when. Sometimes it's a few minutes or so off, or sometimes it's right on time... but as soon as the venue thundered with sound when the intro video came up, I was in a whole new world - a world I was oh-so familiar with, and one I did not want to leave. A smile was plastered on my face when I heard the different renditions of "The Spirit of Radio" by "RASH"... And knew exactly what was going to happen. What excited me even more was the fact that I knew people in the audience. My friends had been in different sections together - my sister and one of my friends in 6th row, and everyone else a bit farther back. 3 out of the 7 people who went with me, it was their first RUSH show... It intensified my excitement. As the video came on, I could see Neil running by, and he slid right into the kit, which had still been covered on the front. Then Ged and Alex slowly stepped out, adjusting their earpieces. Then it happened. The intro notes to "The Spirit of Radio" by Alex himself. That started a night of endless admiration and awe. Seeing Ged smile right in front of me - amazing. Every time he looked at me - or maybe it was just in my general direction - my heart melted. "Time Stand Still" is when I started to tear up. No actual crying - that'll be later once it starts to sink in more. I am too pumped at the show to actually cry, I think. Anyway, that song and every song played after that during the first set was great. They were clearly happy to be back, and even happier to see that we welcomed them back so warmly. Geddy thanked us for forgiving them - OF COURSE WE WOULD! Intermission came around, then Byrd, from 97.9 THE LOOP, came out and announced we all get a hat due to the guys having to leave on the July 7 show and reschedule. Very sweet. SECOND SET: I ran back to talk to my friends for a few during intermission, and I JUST made it back to the barricade in time. Lost my place right against the metal structure, but after "Moving Pictures" was played, the guy in front of me saw me, and said I could switch places with him... So once again, I was right in front of the Gedster. Took a lot of pics and video, but often placed my camera down all together. I'm not there solely to take a ton of photos and be consumed by electronic devices while there. I'm there for the show, to see them in person and take all of that in. *** side note about MP: WOW. It seemed as though it was REALLY intense this time around. "Camera Eye" and "Witch Hunt" especially for some reason. The drums and bass just thundered through me; I loved every bit of it. ENCORE: Once they ran off stage, I was getting very excited. I knew I had a chance at getting a shirt, being up there like that. Ged 'knows' me, or knows of me at least... and plus, I was air-bassing almost every song when I wasn't air-guitarring or -drumming. Sure enough, he tossed one behind me, then looked down at me and tossed it right to me. I almost broke down right there, but the feeling of complete shock stopped that. I was just in awe. Once the music started again, the feeling still stayed and I was just holding the shirt close as I watched them play. As some others have mentioned, WORKING MAN was so stunning. Alex tore it up in every way possible and you could tell he, and the boys, were really into it. Alex was on fire the whole night, though. As was Neil and Ged, but it was just good to see Alex his ol' happy self after whatever angry mishap he went through during that other show! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- VIDEO PICTURES ... Coming in a bit. OH. And I definitely want to say it was lovely meeting a ton of fans. Met a very, very nice and cool woman up in the front who came in from New York... Another GEDDY GAL. She was very pleasant. Also, met "NeilBeart" after the show when we were walking from out of the venue. Very cool and nice also! Glad ya like the shirts.

...WOW. Well, I HAD 6th row Alex's side... got moved to the barricade. Took a stance on Geddy's side this time around... AMAZING concert... I'm so exhausted... I'll elaborate later... and I have a TON of high quality pics to share... to those I met @ the barricade... wonderful meeting all of you. and thanks Ged for the shirt hope everyone who went to Chicago had a great time RUSH gave us ALL hats for having to reschedule. What guys.
