  3. QUOTE (teababe27 @ Jun 10 2011, 12:43 AM) QUOTE (CMWriter @ Jun 10 2011, 12:44 AM) Lame shampoo joke was lame. Loved Neil Patrick Harris. (Squee!) Loved that guy who was on at the end before Neil. (Lol! Love those cell phone help-lines, I was dying with laughter.) Oh and that drummer guy was pretty cool too. First time I noticed the "One - two - three - four!" part, or was I seeing things? Agreed. It was good, as expected. And you weren't seeing things when Neil was counting. I think Neil always does a "count down" leading into the Love For Sale portion of his solo. I noticed it when I saw them in Chicago and have seen it in several of the drum solo youtube vids.
  4. QUOTE (GernTheFish @ Jun 10 2011, 07:06 AM)I know Neil's solo was taped earlier this week, but they really make it look "live". Dave had the same suit and tie on during the whole show that he had on when he shook Neil's hand. My understanding is the whole show was taped on Monday, not just Neil's bit. They taped 2 complete shows on Monday (Monday's show and last night's show).
  5. If it follows the same routine as the others this week, he will play in the last segment of the show.
  6. QUOTE (Undemanding Contact @ Jun 9 2011, 01:06 PM)...And another thing (who started this thread anyway? ): a mate of mine said once that Edwin who does some of the vocals on Victor 'sounds just like Geddy Lee', when a side-by-side comparison shows clearly that he doesn't. For my money, he sounds a lot more like Ronnie James Dio than he does our Ged. Interesting point about Victor. When I first listened to it, I never thought that Edwin and Geddy sounded alike at all. However, I did think that Dalbello, who sings the 3rd track Start Today, sounds quite a bit like a young (old??) Geddy at points in the song. Check it out: especially at around 0:30. Later in the track (~1:27), she sounds like the singer from Four Non-blondes.
  7. Just saw this funny...and only marginally safe for work...Drum Solo Week clip from Letterman. Neil's S&A kit makes an interesting cameo appearance. Here
  8. According to a posting at RIAB, Neil taped his performance yesterday. Check out the comments section on that posting...nice recap from a fan who was at the taping. RIAB - TMD
  9. This kid is really good! There are quite a few postings from him as an 11 and 12 year old.
  10. One moment's high, then glory rolls on by
  11. I *think* that Geddy is partial to Converse All-Stars?? Neil has been wearing soft dancing shoes since he first worked with Freddy Gruber before TFE.
  12. I haven't heard anything...unless you count the daily spam from Musician's Friend that I apparently agreed to when entering the contest...
  13. They sound really good. That said, my first reaction on seeing the video was "they need haircuts"...geez, am I getting that old??
  14. This will NEVER happen (...he says with great confidence with not a single shred of proof to back it up...) That said, if they did I would really like to see where they would take the "fading out while just getting interesting" ending.
  15. QUOTE (32Ford @ May 20 2011, 08:01 AM) The crowd was nuts, espeically the second set. Would that be because the first set was full of duds? (kidding. Personally, I loved the entire set. Is it a set of my 30 personal favorite Rush songs? Heck no, but they played the hell out of every one of them and made them all shine)
  16. Nope. In fact, I keep my phone on vibrate 100% of the time, so a ring tone would be completely wasted on me. My wife, however, has her phone play CTTH when I call her.
  17. That's great! Again, I was just going off what I could glean from some postings here. If I gleaned poorly, my bad.
  18. It seems like the crowds at the UK shows have been comparatively small, at least that what I've been able to glean from posts here. Did their management over-estimate the demand? Are 1 Scotland and 5 England shows too many? Does anyone have actual numbers (attendance vs. capacity)? On the positive side, based on reviews posted here, the smaller crowds and half-filled arenas don't appear to have diminished the band's enthusiasm and ability to deliver the best rock show money can buy!
  19. ooh boy, I find myself crying much easier at movies as I've got older (not out-right weaping, but definitely tears). A brief sample includes: Father of the Bride - lots of times during this movie Bridge to Teribithia (sp?) - when the boy learns that his friend died. Up - the opening montage Toy Story 3 - the end Field of Dreams - "Want to have a catch?" and on and on
  20. QUOTE (Cosy Toes @ May 13 2011, 06:33 PM) Wel, that gig was average at best. Easily the worst setlist since the resumed touring Yurp again. Set 1 took a hell of a nosedive after TSoR, only picking up with the last three songs. Then, wow they play all of MP, BFD, so we get The Camera Eye, but do we need Vital Signs? Neil had a face like a Bulldog licking piss off a nettle all night, and the lighting rig delivered less than it promised. The intro videos were shite. On the positive side, Alex looked well into it - even if his guitar work is very Milli Vanilli - and I thought taht Geddy's vocals held up very well (even if others differ in their opinion - and they do) So you went to the concert...why??
  21. Was it sold out, or at least close to it? Can't get a sense of that from the YouTube vids. The crowd that I can see looks pretty into it, which is always a good thing.
