  1. I'm sad. This is the first show in a long time that I didn't buy tickets for right away. I had to work today, and couldn't find anyone to get tix for me. I'm trying not think negatively but I'll probably get crappy seats now.
  2. Ok. Your Ged or AL, pick one... It's a muggy night, and your deep into the middle of a show at some ampitheater in a hot humid part of the US. Your playing is on fire and show is just feeling awesome so far. Your just passing the chorus of a key song, and about to rip into the solo, and your really feeling it...say.. 'Freewill' for example. But just before your q, a giant, thirsty looking mosquito lands on your forearm and begins to setup for a bite... Do you risk delaying the solo and sounding clunky, with a smack to your arm? Do you passionately wail out the solo in perfect time and try not to notice it? Do you continue on and try to scrape it off on the side of neil's drum kit? This has to happen.. I wonder how many times there playing a show and looking all the part,,,, but they totally have an itch there just dying to scratch... Or maybe they suddenly gotta wiz... there human, its gotta happen..
  3. QUOTE (Xanadoood @ Apr 16 2010, 06:00 PM) QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 16 2010, 02:54 PM) QUOTE (Xanadoood @ Apr 16 2010, 03:36 PM) I dont think anyone came out of the 80's unscathed. I mean, look at those pants on Alex!...What the hell were they thinking?...but really, Rush was one of the few bands from the 70s who were able to blend into the new era and still progress with their music. Look at bands like Foghat, UFO, Thin Lizzy, etc..they just didnt progress with the times. What's funny is that a lot of people consider Rush to be an 80's band. What, you didn't like Alex's parachute pants? Alex was the original M.C Hammer LOL..that was good. I think overall, Rush as always been a product of the times.. The look and feel fit right in as cool look for rush based on what was out and happening at the times. At the time of these video's... New wave was huge, Punk was making a stand .. you heard The Fixx, The Police, U2, Thomas Dolby, Electric avenue..ect. Maxx Hedromm - "Where's the Beef" Pac - Man/ Atari... The Regular Rock sound was being fully covered by Van Halen / Scorpions.. and a wave of bands were rushing in to fill in where zeppelin left off, creating "Hair Metal" bands like, Ratt, twisted sister, whitesnake, whitethis, whitethat,..ect Nothing better for rush to do at the time, but to try to be a bit more progressive that the rest, and attempt to combine the impossible, and hopefully land some tunes that FM radio would throw into regular rotation behind, the bands listed above...U2 The Fixx, ect. At least thats what it all looks like to me.
  4. This ones easy. Its a Zepplinesque sort of mantra. Meaning, like Zeppelin, Rush was a universal rock band, that could rock any style. It's a formula straight out of Zeppelin's playbook, that few other bands dare to attempt. Since most bands (99%)never do such a wide variety styles, and keep within a safe zone...its easy to think the same thing of rush, and then be bewildered when you pull a snippet of them out of the past for analysis, and see something like this.
  5. I think lots of shows in the US since the mid 90's were outdoor's.
  6. I'm singing lyrics from vital signs while doin' a raggae dance... Cant wait. I'm hoping be @ the Syracuse show.. Toronto, Philly, Allentown, and Saratoga are also possibilities too..
  7. Thanks for posting the dates.... My hard drive crashed a week ago, and sure enough, while I'm gone... all hell breaks loose. I didn't know where to check the dates so thanks. I was about to go check out riab.com A local radio station said yesterday "there's a rumour Rush may be playing the New york state fair" And I was like no-way...its to small... But there above is my confirmation. I'm glad its not Darien Lake this year....but there's a new venue near the finger lakes that would be super cool.
  8. "Which City Will Host The 6th Sow of the 2010 Tour?" The only way to know is to know how many Sows they brought with them last year. And how many escape per show. Where did they keep them, behind the roticery machines?
  9. I have this $199 (new) Ibanez GIO series guitar. Like many new 'discount' guitars. It actually looks excelent. And plays pretty good. But the tone sucks so bad its pathetic!!! The overtones you can hear when playing say a High E or F note would make you vomit. Then the rest of my rig is another mess.. a Tech 21 That never plays clean, its always modeling another amp. Its fair at best. the good news is its pretty loud. I just got an RP350 processor, that I'm happy with, although its just more modeling and processing. I like that I can kereoke with backing tracks through my amp, thats cool. Sorry for hijacking the thread. Seems like if you just get a PRS and a GK amp, or HK zentera, your in...no?
  10. I just remembered...the 2 speakers in my Tech 21 "tradesman 120" guitar amp are model 2112's. Must have been some cool people working there.
