  1. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 30 2010, 06:40 AM) Is it wrong of me to be deliriously happy that The Expendables beat the dog snot out of Eat Pray love at the box office? It's not wrong at all. Just that pretentious title "Eat Pray Love" demands that you opt for a movie where shit gets blown up real good. And that goes for movies with titles like these, too: "The Secret Life Of Bees" "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" Blech.

They do that sketch, and Cleese recites the "Course you don't get bloody wafers with it!" line....a little differently. EDIT: Here it is, and it's NOT work friendly:

  6. QUOTE (Janie @ Aug 27 2010, 11:06 AM) QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Aug 27 2010, 08:01 AM) Lets all agree that Lindsay Lohan should be hit with a sock full of horse manure! I haven't actually seen many of her movies so I can't honestly comment about her acting abilities. But it would be cool if she could get her act together and maybe all this recent activity will help her do that. Or maybe she just needs to have different people around her. At any rate, it seems like many young troubled celebs have a difficult time breaking the cycle they've gotten into. This would be the perfect opportunity for her to turn her life around and be a good role model for a lot of young people. And... I still think she's incredibly cute. She did a movie called "The Parent Trap" when she was a kid where she played twin sisters. Yep, she played both parts, and in many shots both sisters were on the screen at the same time. It was very convincing, with one of them having an English accent (they were separated at birth). Not an easy acting gig for anyone, much less for a 12-year-old. I've seen her in a couple of movies on cable and she's certainly not without talent. If she got her shit together she could have a good acting career.

  8. QUOTE (*Limelight* @ Aug 26 2010, 03:26 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Aug 25 2010, 10:02 PM) QUOTE (bigmoney2112 @ Aug 25 2010, 08:34 PM)If they cut pre-season down to two games then it would work. If they kept it at four pre season games and eighteen regular season games there be way too many injuries.QUOTE (PuppetKing2112 @ Aug 25 2010, 10:05 PM) I don't see how they can justify this with all the new studies coming out about head injuries. Thank you. All those repeated blows to the head -- even the minor ones -- they accumulate and can cause all kinds of permanent damage, and according to recent studies, that might include ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). So yeah, let's throw in two more games worth of head blows each season, because two more games worth of ticket sales and advertising dollars is more important. I'll take most of that back if they eliminate two preseason games. And eliminate the Pro Bowl while they're at it. Not because there's a lot of heavy hitting in that game, but because it's boring and utterly worthless. Remember this? OUCH!
  9. QUOTE (CygnusX-1Bk2 @ Aug 26 2010, 04:49 PM) Agreed. I still have the original R bridge on mine. Don't monkey with the value of that instrument. Would he have to drill new holes to put a Badass bridge on there? Does Badass make a direct replacement bridge for the Ric?

  12. QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Aug 26 2010, 11:01 AM) Kinda surprised this one hasn't been locked. Why? Sure, it's been a little heated in here, but nothing lock-worthy.

That's IF the woman standing next to nobodys hero is the OP. I took NH's photo and enhanced the face of the woman next to her. fool4rush, is that you? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/1001001/TRF_Graphics/RUSH2.jpg And a question for nobodys hero -- you pretty much answered this, but just to be clear: Did that woman next to you get hauled off by security right before the encore (or at any point during the show)? Nope That means one of two things: That the woman in that pic is the OP and lied about getting hauled off by security, or that's not the OP. And if that is indeed her, then we probably won't hear from her again. Was She ecorted out during the "I Love you man video"? Green dress, Geddy side, that is who I Saw. She says it was during the show. I know the security guard talked to her a few times during the show and she got in his face and was really pissed! We had the BEST security guard. He looked out for the handicapped people and prevented others from blocking the view. I was there with my friend Mike who has 5% of his vision left and his kidneys are failing. We actually sat him down on the curb along the ramp leading out of the venue so he could drink and stabilize a little, he was shaky, but that's a whole other story. Anyways ALL the security peeps passed us by and were cordial waiting for the handicapped shuttle. I can't see how she could've been manhandled by security when they were standing right by me and then walked past and wished us a good night once they put on their street clothes. I hope you and your freind had a great time anyway at a most excellent show!! I'll defer to your account about the lady in green. KEEP RUSHIN! Throwing in a wrench... Didn't the OP say she was old? This woman doesn't look very old to me. This is goin' down as the great TRF mystery of 2010. Right. There is no confirmation at this point that the woman in the pic is the OP. And we may never get that conformation.
  14. QUOTE (Mara @ Aug 25 2010, 03:40 PM) Okay, here's my take, for whatever it's worth. I really would be stunned if ANYONE in this thread truly wished harm on the aforementioned "stars". We are all just sick of the amount of air time they get, mostly for being overdramatic little hot messes who get attention for being stupid. Similar to Tiger Woods. I wish HE'D vanish as well. I'm sick of Tiger too, but the difference between him and Lohan is, unlike the movie industry with Lohan, the PGA tour NEEDS Tiger. He puts more people in the stands and advertising money in their pockets than probably the rest of the top-20 combined. He's high profile even if he's not acting like a sex-starved adolescent moron. As long as he continues to play golf, especially the major tournaments, we're stuck with him on some level.
  15. QUOTE (Echoes @ Aug 26 2010, 01:06 AM) What they should be doing is decreasing the preseason, not increasing the regular season. My guess is, the NFL will never eliminate from the total number of games (preseason + regular season). They would never give up that much money. The most that they would give up is two preseasons, but only if they replace them with two more regular season games.

"Bullitt" was on cable a couple of weeks ago. Steve McQueen was so f**king cool. And of course it featured another legendary car chase, with McQueen doing a lot of the stunt driving himself. And something else about it and the other old cop films that makes them great to watch -- they don't have the breakneck fast-paced editing that today's action films have. The shots were allowed to breathe and stay on the screen for more than half a second, and because of that you never lose your orientation. "Bullitt's" editing is especially deliberate, and I enjoyed it big time. Plus, no CGI. Those car chases were the real deal. Fake cars going down fake streets is BOOOORING. The Seven-Ups had the best car chase ending of them all! I literally curl up into a ball every time I watch it. Yep, into the back of the truck. Legendary shot!

I know I said I wouldn't be posting a bunch of new music threads, but I thought this turned out pretty good. Would love to hear what you virtuoso musicians think. Cheers ! davidduncanmusic.com (it is in the music samples page) Very cool. You are not afraid to take your melodies to dark places, and I love that. Keeps my ears perked up the entire song. And you make that sound easy, and of course it isn't. The vocal part is very effective. How did you do the female voice? It really sounds like you brought someone in to record that part. Thanks. I am using Tonehammer for the vocals. I bought quite a few Tonehammer samples - GREAT stuff! I just added a brand new song and it is somewhat HAPPY! Needed a change of pace and wanted to do something a little different. However, my dark side came out a little at the end. It is called 'Suzu's Flight'. Check it out when you get a chance! davidduncanmusic.com Excellent! That main melody is awesome -- love that hook at the end of the phrase.

  23. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Aug 24 2010, 04:14 PM) I need to watch The Seven-Ups again. There's a great car chase in that one! Absolutely! Easily one of the best of the '70s cop films.
