Sweet Miracle is last for me as well, though I know some like it. Also not a fan at all of Out of the Cradle. But Freeze is an interesting case. I enjoy a lot of music many hate. Some experimental Jazz, 70's No Wave (no typo, I don't mean New Wave), some extreme metal, etc. But I never like all of it. Freeze reminds me of one of those projects. They're working really hard on an idea they know is great, and for the life of me I don't get it. I keep wanting to get it, so I don't skip it. Part of me believes that once I get what they're going for, I'll like it. But at this point, musically, it's mostly tuneful noise. Sweet Miracle: I get it. Didn't like it.

It's in the 90's for me as well, basically the same spot. Might move higher, later. I am liking it more all the time.

I was never into Ghost of a Chance, I'm not one for love songs usually. It's a nice song, and Alex plays beautifully on it. It would have been a hit in an earlier era for sure. I have it at 127th I believe. So not my thing, but it's perfectly crafted and does everything the way it should be done. Everyone sounds great on it.

I've listened to the whole ep and listened to the previous album again. The new material is MUCH better than the album was. So they are going into the right direction, for sure.

2 Years ago I broke Iron Maiden's collection into different sections. One of those were a list of songs per album that I rated as particularly great. Off Seventh Son these songs are better than Can I Play With Madness... Infinite Dreams Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Moonchild The Prophecy ... in that order. But I agree that Can I Play with Madness is the most FUN song on the album. One of the most fun songs they ever wrote, and anyone who has it as their top Maiden song has good reason for saying so.

Chemistry is easily the weakest track on Signals. I love the idea of each member writing a verse, making the song really personal. Unfortunately the song loses me rather than pulling me in with it's refrains. It's not bad, but it has no competition for bottom spot on that great album.

Title track off AFTK leaves that album hanging by a thread. Circumstances was once by far my least favorite off Hemispheres. It's long since passed the Trees by, but it's never going to catch the other two. Still, 28th is pretty good. Grand Designs suffers a lot from excessive 80's bells and whistles, and STILL stands strong at 27th. It would have been amazing on Signals, dialing back the glamour a bit. The Weapon is an excellent song managing to stand up to the "Fear" connection quite well. Both Grand Designs and The Weapon can occasionally sneak into the top 20. Maybe next time.

We have Driven at close to the same spot. I love The Enemy Within more than you, but honestly when you have it top 30 is there really any difference? The Garden is a fine song that slips really far for me due to the music, but there's nothing wrong with the music. I like faster/heavier generally. I appreciate people rating it high, the lyrics are excellent. Agree completely about Analog Kid. In fact I wish the solo was more up front in the mix because it's so good. By-Tor is a song inspired by a dog- Biter. I dig the lyrics because it's always felt current on purpose. But I also have it very high, and it's the music that does it. When the band tears into a song on those early albums they really throw everything they have into it. No hate on any of these

I am enjoying the more recent ep just fine, only two songs in. Much like almost anything Alex contributes to or creates on his own, do not expect hints of Rush anywhere. It's not what he does. We talk more often about Victor vs. My Favorite Headache. That was the biggest difference. Geddy echoed Rush heavily, Alex not at all. I like this a LOT more than Victor. I like My Favorite Headache more than either, though. But this is pretty good stuff.

Driven probably isn't my favorite T4E anymore, but it was this day. Far Cry really has no competition- it's been the best off S&A since day one. I love Countdown, and Signals remains strong at having 4 songs left before it waves goodbye. Goose, the NASA clips not only don't detract, they're essential. :) High Water has always been a favorite off HYF, but it's only the last few years it's risen to 2nd. Manhattan Project has a singular moment that is my favorite off PoW, but as a whole it's only great. Just not greater than 2 other PoW songs. I've killed off: The Debut Presto Counterparts Test For Echo Vapor Trails Snakes And Arrows Hanging on by one song: 2112 Hold Your Fire Roll The Bones 30 songs left!

All good songs. Goose is right that Cygnus 1 isn't ready for the masses, yet, although like you I still really like the song. I have BU2B much lower, but I still really like the song so no complaints here. These are well placed.

A lot of people don't like Countdown. That was one of my biggest surprises when I joined this forum, as Rush goes. The others were the wide dislike for Kid Gloves and the deep affection for Tears. I have always loved Countdown. I really like the Weapon as well.

Chemistry is easily the weakest song on Signals, but every song on Signals is a keeper. I have it 128, though, so you definitely like it better

I realize that there is a wide disdain for Between Sun and Moon, but Ah, yes. To yes. I do like this song a lot. The poetry it hails from works for me, but boy do a lot of you hate it with a passion at worst, or just find it stupid at best. No matter, my list. Sometimes it beats Cut to the Chase for first off that album. Cygnus may be an exit to soon, but it's sister suite part two will be around for quite awhile still. And it's sad to see Carnies go, I love that last album but it still has two songs to go, so the album is doing fine. I cannot say the same for two other albums that will exit with my next five.

No complaints about the placements of these specific songs- but nothing from Power Windows is higher? That's wrong. Ceiling Unlimited is a surprise for top song off VT, but this is still a good spot for top song.

Twilight Zone is a great song where they really try to evoke the essence of one of the best shows ever. And they mostly succeed. I do think if they had tried to capture this a bit later, with their growing prog maturity after 2112, the song would have been much better. But kudos for trying, and I almost like what they were going for more then what they achieved.

Over the next two rounds I'm killing off three more albums, the herd is getting thinner!

As with all five of these they are fully capable of being top 40 songs on any given day. Even top 20 on the right day. The Body Electric was possibly my favorite Rush song for awhile, in the era before I had heard all of the albums. I think it dropped here mostly because every song left is a song I love. Honestly until we get well into that top 20 I think every song is potentially interchangeable on my list at this point given the right day. In The End was once my favorite FBN song and certainly can still be on the right day. Turn the Page is the biggest surprise to me. I love how it builds into a fantastic grand finale, but it's the sole song here that would probably never see the top 20 no matter the day. Top 40 certainly. It was a good rating day for HYF-T4E. I know I've already eliminated Presto, but those albums have fared well overall compared to how my lists normally go.

I'm fine with all of these decisions. My ratings are different but at some point in my life all of these have been around your placements.

I have it at #103. I guess we all placed it basically in the same zone. I do like it, though.

Of the "Fear" collective of songs it probably reflects the fear response best. Every song from here on out I enjoy thoroughly, so I have few complaints about any remaining songs. Earthshine is the best song on Vapor Trails and always has been, I've never wavered here. So Earthshine is the exit point for Vapor Trails, joining the debut and Presto for the eliminated club. The Colour of Right leaves T4E hanging by a thread. This song has grown phenomenally for me over the years, it may move past Driven next time. Distant Early Warning was a frequently played video back when I was young. At my friends house on several weekends we'd stay up late watching music videos, and this one really worked for me. My friend became a drummer with little interest in Rush, I never learned to play anything and became a huge Rush fan. Feels like that result is backwards, but there you go. Time Stand Still waxes and wanes. I adore Aimee Mann's solo career- she's an incredible songwriter. That has no bearing on this song, but I figured I'd say it for anyone interested. Her music is generally soft, though, so not for people who only like the heavy side of the road. I like the whole musical highway, so her music works for me. Time Stand Still is a powerful emotional piece of music I like more every year. I always understood it and enjoyed it, but as my children have grown up and my friends become older the song is more personal now. All good stuff, all contenders for top 40, they just didn't make it this time.

Those first four songs are excellent, suffering for you exactly how they suffer for me, but overall great songs. Best I Can is really a pre-Neil song, it's performed with Rutsey live, even. You have this far far far far far too high. :)

Cut to the Chase alternates between 1st and 2nd on that album for me. It's in my top 40 overall
