what's that one stand for?
-
yes I am learning A LOT on here as well. I'm always that person who doesn't get the joke until a few seconds later. Sometimes minutes! But yes, some of these posts are so musically technical. I wish I understood more about it.

Actually, it is more than just that. I used to think it had to make a word, as well, but that is not the case. you are correct. It's the letter of each word in a phrase or description. I just looked it up. It does NOT have to spell a word.

Maybe Gypsy will tell us the ones she was wondering about; I was wondering if it is just the album ones also??? I can't think of too many other ones that really get used much, maybe IMO ? I do know the album ones. Mostly it's song titles that annoy me. But also it just my own personal rant. You should see me at a work meeting! Every so often "what's that mean?" It's really embarrassing for them when they don't know what it even stands for anymore! I LOVE it when that happens!

I think Segue put a list of the Rush acronyms up somewhere, I will try to find the thread. I'm with Lorraine, ask as many questions as you want! After a long day (and 23 yrs x 3 kids x 10 plus animals) I have lost brain cells and also still have to stop to think: PeW? PoW?? PW? MFH?? (My Favourite Headache, Geddy's solo album) WTF??? :D :D I just type the whole title out now. Got tired of trying to remember the acceptable abbreviations. I never forgot being chastised because I could never get the Grace Under Pressure one right -P/g? G/p? By the time I figure it out and remember which one is correct, it is faster to just type Grace Under Pressure. It's grace under pressure so p/g is correct. Thank you! I'm not alone!

Indeed! For me anyway!

I'll just be that 'slow' person on here that has to ask over & over... That's fine with me. It'll drive up my post count! For the longest time I thought lol stood for "lots of love"

no, you answered that one for me a while back. thank you! But it did remind me of my pet peeve. That WAS a good idea to keep it separate! Don't see myself going there anytime soon. Blah blah blah!
-
TLDNR what does that mean?
-
thank-you for posting. I had forgotten where it was!

What the f**k??? You made me cuss! Ha ha, I do know a couple & can really whip down with some medical acronyms!
-
Can we PLEASE remember that not everyone here has been a fan since the beginning of time & doesn't know all the freaking acronyms! I need to know what they mean!!! Come on folks. Would it kill ya to type out the words?!?! Unrelatedly, I'm sorry I've ignored you for my twitter & Facebook Rush friends. Also, when will I progress to the next level? I need goals see. That is all.

I thought about that, but will probably just get socks,.. That's all I get anymore. I used to get undies too before I gave them up years ago... ;) Ugh Narps, bells longer than the rope? No photos, please. ewwww Grey you're not right! (Said lovingly )

Cool stuff. I found myself in one semi-closeup during 2112 and a number of wide crowd shots, so I'm extremely happy about that too. Feels great to make it into a release for one of your favorite bands :) I haven't seen the dvd yet - still eagerly awaiting the European release - but I've been told I'm also in there  :cheerleader: cool for you both! :sundog:

Did they say they would have it tomorrow? they have it now. You probably already know As long as it's not anything from R40. Some pretty poorly designed t-shirts for that tour. The Farewell to Kings shirt was nice in the front, but he blue in the back wasn't very aesthetically pleasing I like the R40 Shirts. They're great

heehee, you said camera angels...there are quite a few of those !

Wasting 2112 here, oh well. Need to set record straight. Tour announced late January, began early May, three months, easy math. Given work and summer vacation schedules mostly set when they announced final full tour, it was actually much less than three months notice since tix were selling out in Feb, weeks after tour announced. This made travel decisions and coordination with friends virtually impossible. Look at how Sabbath is doing it, much much much more notice, adding additional legs, and giving fans time to react and decide travel plans for such significant and life alterning decision. Neil, on the other hand, happy to show he is exercising his free will. Can't think of another band on their level bowing out so abruptly , outside of serious illness or death. Rush fans, thanks for your decades of support and loyalty. Have a nice life, signed your fave drummer. . Blaming Neil for being too old and injured to tour, and not giving you "adequate notice" (like there's any such thing) is like blaming Dimebag Darrell for not giving fans enough notice that he was going to be gunned down on stage. Are you seriously going to compare Neil not wanting to tour anymore to a man being f***ing BRUTALLY MURDERED on stage? No, it's NOT the same thing and it's NOT his f***ing fault that some psycho with delusional fantasies about Pantera decided to kill him and if you're going to imply that I or any other Rush fan who is dissapointed in Neil would be that shitty and say "Oh well, he should have seen it coming, it's really his fault he got killed." NO. NOT AT ALL. I never even knew about dime bag Darrell. That's terrible. It's been years since I was into Pantera though.

I don't want him to retire, but I do think people should give him a break
-
It's a good thing we've got this to discuss. Seemed the Rush related posts were getting a little scarce lately

Well, I haven't watched mine yet. But I'm getting a flashlight. Now that's what's really important!
-
exactly. Geddy said it, so I'm good with it
-
oh Blue J, a man after my own heart. I listen with an ear to overlook, not nitpick
-
yes! Same exact thing for me!
