  1. As people have stated in other posts. The idea of a limited number of shows is improbable. 1) They would have to scale down their production. Some may say they don't care about lights and screens but I think the guys in Rush do. 2) They would still have to rehearse just as much for a week run as they would a 3 month tour. I don't see them taking the time and effort to do this. 3) and most importantly, there wouldn't be enough of a financial return to do limited or one off shows. I would say maybe they will make new music but I highly doubt they will perform again, aside from maybe 3-4 songs at a benefit or something. Neil had never come to the front of the stage for a bow, I think that was a pretty clear sign.
  2. I've seen ton of pics of the R40 kit from every angle. It's the same as the last 5 kits he's had so not really that exciting to the drum gear geek in me. I can't find any good "driver's seat" pics of his "El Darko" replica kit anywhere. Hoping one of the drum magazines was able to get behind it and snap some pics before Neil jumps on. I sent some messages to Lorne Wheaton on Twitter but obviously the guy has his hands full. Anyone else see any good shots behind this masterpiece!?
  3. Long story but back in my former life as a session musician, I had an artist deal with Tama drums. I had them make me a Starclassic Maple version of his Signals kit. 6" 8", 10", 12" Concert toms, 12", 13", 15" Racks, 18" Floor, 22" and 24" gong bass drums. (2) 14" x 24" bass drums, 13" and 14" wood Timbales, 5" x 14" Snare and a 18" bass drum for the "back forty" kit. I set it up maybe 2 times and sold it for more than I got it for. Anyway, when I did set it up, from a distance I too thought the bass drums looked like 22"'s and they were definitely 24"'s. I'm pretty sure he's playing 24"'s in this kit and that 23" bass drum on the R40 kit is simply elevated and closer so it looks bigger. I'm highly curious about 2 things. 1) Why did he go for that 8" x 20" frame gong drum. I'm really curious as to how that sounds. It's not like more depth would have taken up any important room on the kit. 2) Surprised that he went with standard LP Timbales. I would have thought DW would have made him some brass or steel shell timbales out of snare drum shells. Hope we get some info and professional pics (front and driver's seat) before the tour is over.
  4. Anyone see any pro pics or close ups of this amazing kit? I specifically looking for a close up of that "gong drum" that looks like a vary shallow floor tom next to the 18" floor. It's not the standard 14" or 16" DW gong drum depth. I see he has 2 LP steel timbales to his left. I'd greatly appreciate it if any had any driver seat type shots. Didn't see any on Instagram! Thanks!!
  5. From what John Good (DW President) said in a recent interview (that SRO made most sites take down), this kit is going to be played in the second half of the show, which will focus on older material. It's modeled after the 1977-79 Slingerland "Black Chrome" kit. I believe it does have 2 timbales and a gong bass drum (in place of timpani). Not sure in terms of the additional acoustic percussion. Does any know if the tourbook has more pics? Or text about the kit in the gear section? I going to an additional show just to see him play this thing!
