  1. Cheesy Genesis tags aside, what are some of the most misunderstood albums of all time in your opinion? Not to be confused with simply unrelated, I'm talking genuinely misunderstood by the record buying public, whether just at the time of release, or still into the present day. Here's three to get the ball rolling (two of which I haven't heard but I've been told they do match the description): Led Zeppelin III (time of release) Weezer - Pinkerton (time of release) Queen - Hot Space (to this day!) Have at it! :D
  2. On! Happy Thanksgiving :)
  3. Off again! See you at Thanksgiving!
  4. The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour (vinyl) Ten Bucks again!! U2 - October (CD)
  5. Listening for essentially the first time rn. Very solid. I will note that it wouldn't take much to convince me this is Toto with violin, but then I can also fully recognize this as Kansas with more polished production and a little less urgency. I dig it. Might buy it if I get the chance and it's not too much.
  6. I get to talk to other music fans whenever I want? I love fan forums! Dissenting opinions will happen, and my opinion will be pressured towards them, but so many of them exist that I really feel better about it than if I only had one music fan friend to bounce my thoughts off of.
  7. It's the last with Morrison. They released three more albums after L.A. Woman. So then it's Morrison's swansong, no?
  8. I'm still holding out for 2017 ;) But CA does rock.
  9. Sometimes an artist releases a wonderful work of art that, intentionally or not, turns out to be their last. Some examples include Queen's Innuendo, or David Bowie's recent Blackstar. What are some of your favorites and why?
  10. Chili Pepper albums are generally overstuffed, but SA is just ott in that regard.
  11. No, I should I have phrased the question better. But those bands were popular before Oasis. I was expecting artists that began in the last 10 years or so. Green Day hit with Dookie the same year Oasis hit with Definitely Maybe if I'm not mistaken. Also the Foos didn't even exist when Oasis' golden age began. Cobain might've still been alive actually. Popular at the same time as Oasis? GD yes, the Foos only to an extent (Foo superstardom wasn't really till The Color And The Shape, by which time Oasis was just beginning to burn out). Just fact checking from memory, feel free to correct me.

  13. He knows that changes aren't permanent... BUT CHANGE IS!!!
  14. I'm an AMERICAN IDIOT! BEAT IT MYLES! I have the right to my opinion. You rip me for my musical tastes and zany posting all the time. SO WHAT! Look in the mirror boy before you crack it. Perhaps Tony R was right about you after all. Wow. No respect. It's about music. Not about ripping humans who post here. You have no respect for me. Take a hike. Not being funny. Make sure you pm all of your little minions to attack me. Green Day, Nightwish, and Lacuna Coil are three of the worst bands on the planet. It's called freedumb of speech dummy. Embrace your rights and bugger off wanker. Maybe we should all take a deep breath and cool off. Agree to disagree perhaps. Some of us love love Green Day to death and some of think they really really suck. That shouldn't foster personal attacks one way or the other, though I'd personally prefer a thread full of discussion, admiration, and constructive criticism of Green Day's work than a bash-fest.
  15. Actually my fav off the new album is prob the title track. I know it,s pretty standard Green Day but it's just done so well, and that melody is irresistable. Pure fun. This is why I like Green Day. They make me happy.
  16. Still Breathing is a deceptively excellent song. It's beautiful really. I thought it was very cliche at first, but upon repeat listens it made perfect sense and struck me as wonderful.
  17. On the surface that might seem like a good idea, but it isn't. Besides, no one would go for it. The contempt for a band when a new thread is made about them by in large wanes away after the first few pages. Also, your thread title had nothing to do with "Queen Haters" staying away from your thread, the reason for that is that there aren't exactly many of those out there :) If this thread's title was "The Amazing GREEN DAY Adoration and Respect Thread!" people who didn't care for Green Day would be all the more compelled to stop by and say, "how about no?" Agree to disagree then.
  18. I agree. I feel bad about my reaction to Queen...I think it was in your thread It's fine. I'm still glad we got you to take another chance on them. You ended up digging the first album quite a bit if I recall. First four plus Innuendo haha ANATO grew on you?! :D Oh crap it ends with Sheer Heart Attack I thought that was the fourth haha Lol, it's fine. ANATO is only my favorite album of all time ever you know. :P The four you like are pretty sick too. ;)
  19. Oh sorry sorry! Bad assumption on my part. I didn't mean to do that.

  22. Sure, but those guys are almost ready for the senior citizen discount at the KFC. Who are recent that have a shot at such a noble honor. I actually agree. I'm not sure what new bands of the past decade have really been as big and impactful as Green Day or MCR within the rock genre enough to deserve a place in a RRHOF. I mean, my mind first goes to Imagine Dragons and Twenty-One Pilots...and it really shouldn't be doing that. Twenty-One Pilots aren't really rock... they're more hip-hop. They're more alternative (they certainly aren't hip hop though they have heavy dance music influences and rap a lot), and alt was originally a definable branch of rock (not anymore), thus my mind goes there. But again, it really shouldn't. I will be disappointed to see them go in yet I feel like that will happen. They don't really fit.
