  1. CRISTINA SCABBIA CRISTINA SCABBIA CRISTINA SCABBIA She is so amazing I had shout her name at you all three times Man me loves her stupid much!
  2. THIS ALBUM HAS CRISTINA SCABBIA OF LACUNA COIL ON IT! So yeah...my favourite singer of all time...from my favourite band...featuring on a mega crazy sounding concept album... Its a no brainer...is it any good? Im gonna get it anyway. I love her that much! She has now recorded songs with: Megadeth Apocalyptica Alter Bridge So yeah...this must be good!
  3. I appreciate your list. At least I have heard of all of these. I could have listed Zeppelin on my list. I have all of their albums and listened to them all the time when I was younger. I think they are kind of like the Beatles in a way. I could be wrong, but I think it is a given that at least almost everybody likes them. Those two bands at least are in a different category. Just my opinion :codger: I love the beatles! I kept them off my list because I feel its just to obvious, like somebody coming up to you in the street to say: "ya know, I just can't survive without me oxygen!". Coz its only natural to love the beatles?! Am I right?! As for led zep...well it won't be long before I add them to my top ten, they are getting more and more special to me as time goes by! And I want to put ABBA out there...without them I never would have started my obsession with music from a young age...amazing band!
  4. Bitches Brew shows up a lot in all-time favorite albums lists, as does Dave Brubeck's Take Five. You into jazz? Im getting into jazz. I own around 25 of Miles Davis works...but have felt hesitant to explore other jazz artists. I must admit, Bitches Brew is a fine album, but I prefer older albums like Nefertiti, Sketches Of Spain, Workin' With The Miles Davis Quintet and the soundtrack album Ascenseur Pour Le Chaud. Actually, prefer is putting it mildly: I LOVE THESE ALBUMS! He also did an instrumental track with Toto from the groups Fahrenheit album called Don't Stop Me Now. I love that track, I think its amazing how versatile he could be! I also enjoy Porgy And Bess and 1958 Miles. Jack Johnson Masterpiece! As is In A Silent Way! Woop! I also appreciate On The Corner and Someday My Prince Will Come...

  6. Im surprised two people picked Miles Davis! Was not expecting that!
  7. I agree about rolling stone and the tom joad album is a masterpiece! I like it a lot and think it may even better Nebraska! However, when the press talk about how marvellous an album Born In The USA is, I cringe. It has some Segue love, but his first five albums are so superior and, to an extent, so overlooked it almost hurts me! Greetings, The Wild, Darkness and River are real classics, whereas Born To Run outclasses Born In The USA so much it ain't even funny! And I think his work since the rising has been a lot more patchy than the rolling stone likes to admit. Who cares what that stupid magazine thinks anyway? They treat hip hop like a king and treet Toto and Rush (amongst others) like they are total garbage!
  8. Fairly easy: Lacuna Coil Rush Miles Davis Khoma Bruce Springsteen Jimmy Eat World, Toto and The Beatles could easily sit in that top five as well!
  9. Well each to their own Narpet! We all need our own viewpoint, and Hemispheres is still growing on me. Although its predecessor is possibly my favourite Rush album, I cannot having one without the other. Their are a few things about this album I dislike, but I couldn't change them (unlike Power Windows). A year ago if you had asked me what I thought of Signals I would have said "not much", now its edging it close to my tol five, so yeah...right now I struggle with this album, but tomorrow I could play it and it will just click! But right now, I stand by my opinion: I think Geddy Lee voice saw better days...and better albums! Though admittedly not many...this is likely in my top five: 1) AFWTK 2) 2112 3) PeW 4) GUP 5) Clockwork Angels Ok...so its my number seven...right after MP!
  10. Here comes the old guy again... :codger: I couldn't disagree more about the "shrill" comment. That "shrill" was part of their stamp. It was only one of the many reasons I loved them back then and the establishment hated them. That "shrill" is a badge of honor in my book. It's one part, along with the music, that moves me emotionally when I listen to the early music. I can't even fathom it not being there and being all over those records. Nothing personal. Just my opinion :codger: I do agree with this, what I mean is his voice is too extreme. The Temples of Syrinx features ridiculously shrill vocals, as does Xanadu...but nothing of the title track warms to my ears. It sounds like a case of taking a good idea a step to far...thankfully Rush are not ACDC, they know exactly when to stop and change gears! I think if they did just one more album like this the public would have deemed them a one trick pony, and fans would be getting bored. I love his voice. But it is the one thing that ruins the title track. I would have said the same thing if I had been a fan the day of this albums release! However, as for the second side of this album...9/10...as close to perfection as the first side of 2112...if these had made ul just one entire album I reckon we would be talking about Rush- the band who outsold The Beatles...
  11. Its a good album...but I am very happy they didn't continue with this style as I think by this point it was getting a bit repetitive. 2112 and A Farewell To Kings showed off the styles of this album to much better effect! I must say, though, that the second side of this album is perfection. I struggle greatly with the title track! Oh, and Geddy's vocals are starting to get on my nerves...sorry...but he redeemed himself with the next release! He is just to shrill... Will have to rate this as an 7.5/10. Near classic album, not quite up there with the bands best early masterpieces.
  12. C'Mon bro...love is all I got Your words bring a tear to my eye... ...Must be the onions
  13. You just know that whoever wrote this is trying to deny their love for them.
  14. Wow...we all seem to love AFWTK immensely! That album is magical though...
  15. Permanent Waves and Grace Under Pressure come to mind as two mood settlers, but there are two occasions when I have sat and played A Farewell To Kings through to Moving Pictures and have been left intoxicated, as if I were in a trance and honestly, they mesmerize me!
  16. Is this the last tour? Will this next one really be the last? I am poor at the moment so I will never get the chance to see them! And if I could pick a band, it would be Lacuna Coil. They have opened for bands like Opeth, Moonspell, Paradise Lost and a host of mainstream rock bands, as well as bands like System Of A Down, Motorhead, Megadeth, and Deftones. And they always fit! Plus I love them, and I think it could be ace!
  17. Im a massive fan of the mac! Tragic news! Lou Reed, now this...what a terrible day for music!
  18. Well...my favourite band is Italian and I love Japanese anime...soo...I tend to look beyond british borders (plus I was born in South Africa, so im not a true brit anyway!) Bruce is very american, which is fascinating to me, as I long to visit the USA!
  19. This! I am not one of those ridiculous fans who proclaim that everything he touches is gold. After all, I struggle to listen to the whole of Nebraska in one sitting, and he has quite a few releases that, for him, are bland (Human Touch is almost 100% turd!). But his best work makes him, for me, the greatest songwriter in my opinion. (Btw does my endless gushing get annoying? I am so full of love for Bruce its pathetic! )
  20. This gets better each time I read it. O my days...lol well at least I am good for something! I save my most in depth emotions, I bare my soul to the world...I express my passion for the sake of LOVE!! why? To make a stupid Mountain giggle. Great.
  21. Well I was expecting VENOM and HATRED (ooh...im not talking about black metal bands!). Surprising amount of nice words!
  22. I will admit to understanding your view on his music. I think his voice is love/hate thing. I love a lot of his stuff, but I ueed to find he E Street Band pulled me into a song, and Bruces voice would push me away! And his songwriting, especially his early years, is definitely all over the place. I get this hatred! Although it works for me, I can see where your coming from! Yes I agree...I still enjoy the music but the lyrics are a little to preachy for my tastes! Still...I can take his recent stuff in moderate doses. He is still far better than mkst acts half his age!
  23. He is still a good recording artist, and I think he is far more approachable and accessible now than he was in the nineties (although I find the politics of the last album a little too preachy for my liking).
  24. Try The Rising...honestly its brilliant, and its a fine blend of different styles. Im not keen on all his slower stuff, but every album has its gems! In the last 13 years, he has only had one album that I would deem slow. When you say first couple, which album are you referring to? A lot of people I speak to don't realise that Born To Run was his third release, as they thought it was his debut! And for the record, I adore BTR, but the two that preceeded it (Greetings From Asbury Park and The Wild, The Innocent And The E Street Shuffle) and the one that came after (Darkness On The Edge Of Town) shine perhaps a little more brightly in my opinion! I love this man!
