  1. Setlist from jan 22 1993 Harpo's (Detroit, mi) Portnoy used to take requests... http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/kenamay/dtharpossetlist2.jpg
  2. Sorry if this was posted but I found an (old) declaration that tells David was canned when he tried to cancel 3 shows. He shouldn't feel bad, though, they did the same thing to Jon Anderson... How Benoit David left Yes
  3. QUOTE (RodrigoAltaf @ Aug 8 2012, 08:59 AM) QUOTE (the masked drummer @ Aug 8 2012, 08:51 AM) I found this setlist from my first dt show at harpo's oct 1992: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/kenamay/dtharpossetlist.jpg Moon Bubbles? Killer setlist, eh? I have no idea what moon bubbles was, but I can tell you I asked Portnoy if they were playing "fortune in lies" and he said "no". And the next time they came around (2 months later) they added it to their setlist!! That was back when they were young and hungry. I do miss those days...
  4. QUOTE (the masked drummer @ Aug 8 2012, 08:51 AM) I found this setlist from my first dt show at harpo's oct 1992: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/kenamay/dtharpossetlist.jpg I'm sure most of you know it already, but it's at setlist.fm.

  6. I tried to reduce the sizes on those. Yeah, That first one was to show how truly empty the seats were. We had a lady from the maintenance crew stop and talk to us because she was so bored. No waiting for the bathrooms... Hopefully this will change...
  7. Pics from Monday's show at DTE: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/kenamay/IMG_20120806_210213.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/kenamay/IMG_20120806_211826.jpg http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/kenamay/1344364788570.jpg
  8. QUOTE (sitboaf @ Aug 6 2012, 08:37 PM) If it comes down to a choice between hearing a live rendition of, let's say "Losing It" with strings versus not hearing it at all, I say "bring on the violins!" I don't hear anybody complaining about recent encores that include a polka- or reggae-version of Working Man, and if THAT song isn't sacred, nothing is. Looking forward to a live album in 2013 that doesn't sound exactly like R30 and Snakes & Arrows Live. I am skeptical, but then again I don't think rush would do it if it wasn't ddone right. I look fwd to a dvd/brd with something different.
  9. QUOTE (The Owl @ Aug 7 2012, 08:34 PM) For those who like Jon Davidson... check out his main gig "Glass Hammer" great band.. I liked Benoit David... and was actually familiar with him before being asked to join Yes... his regular group "Mystery" is very good as well... and I felt alot of the Yes community of fans were a bit unfair to him... simply for the fact that he was not Jon Anderson. I never saw benoit, I just really liked jon Monday. I am curious about glass hammer. I thought benoit was in a yes tribute band when he was recruited for Yes?
  10. QUOTE (metaldad @ Aug 7 2012, 12:09 PM) QUOTE (the masked drummer @ Aug 6 2012, 02:11 PM) According to celebrity net worth, mike portnoy is worth, as of july 24, 8 million U.S. dollars. This is more than twice the 3.2 million JP supposedly has. With 8 million I can now see why mp was not too worried about losing his spot with dt. He can play these project bands all he wants with that kinda loot. I figured the guy put the money up his nose and was nearly broke, but apparently he put a few bucks aside over the years... I knew there was no way he was leaving DT if he had no cash . He lives in a huge mansion in PA and he has another house out west. You can see his house online or in his dvd's. He works a lot and sells a ton of dvd's off of his site. The whole band has cash but nobody in DT works like that guy and when you work, you get paid True, true... But my latest finding was an even bigger surprise. Wolfgang van halen has a net worth of 10 mil! I figured eddie paid him slave wages, but I sure was wrong...
  11. I uploaded pics to snapbucket, a mobile version of pbotobucket, but this board apparently doesn't allow that file extension. Sorry. Tomorrow I can upload at work...
  12. Jon Davison was beyond belief! If you closed your eyes you would believe it was Jon Anderson. The band members were having a blast! Highly recommended!! A+++ Both Chris and Steve talked to the audience between songs, which was a treat in my humble opinion...
  13. QUOTE (D3strukt @ Jun 27 2012, 08:21 PM) QUOTE (USB Connector @ Jun 27 2012, 08:09 PM) I would say that IF they bring an orchestra they would likely be seated between Alex and Neil to balance out all of the machinery around Ged like the keys and stage props. Hopefully they will sit in the audience without instruments or mics. There is no IF. They actually are touring with an Orchestra. As they shouldn't be. They should stay home like metaldad said. I Love orchestras and I love Rush, but adding an orchestra to a great band doesn't neccesarily make them better.
  14. QUOTE (Lerxster @ Jul 31 2012, 02:46 PM) Replacing instruments Rush played on albums with strings live is not brilliant. Leave the strings where they belong.. where Rush put them. Let the songs be. I agree!

  16. QUOTE (greg2112 @ Aug 5 2012, 06:58 AM) Saw them last night at the Warner Theater in DC. The best Yesshow I've seen since ABWH in 1989, seriously. The band seems to have been revived with Jon Davison on board. They played tight, with alot of energy. And I'm sure they fed off the crowd, which was incredible -- standing ovations after nearly every song-- and the place was packed). The setlist was really good, highlights were leaves of green (with Jon coming out to sing), and of course, Awaken. Jon blows Benoit away, nailing the Anderson parts. He also seems to fit in much better with the rest of the band. Fish commanded the stage, Steve was flawless, and Alan had more energy then hes had in years. It was also cool to see Geoff Downes (love the drama era!). In sum- I saw them two years ago at the same venue (with Benoit) and it was an uninspired, at times sloppy performance, so bad I said I wouldnt see them again. Glad I decided to see this show, as it was the complete opposite. Go if you can! Awesum. I'm going tonight to pine knob. I wish they woukd do one song off drama. "Does it really happen? " that's one of the best bass intros ever imho...

  19. QUOTE (mandydog @ Aug 1 2012, 02:49 PM) $6.50 general admission, Louisville Gardens, January 30, 1979. Hemispheres tour. TOTO was the opener. Holy Cow! Tell us about the concert if you could, briefly?!! That one, due to it's age and rareness, deserves a mini-review!!
