  1. Architeutis, I live on the eastern side of the state. No, I could not go to the concert, but I will have you know that they were very much on my mind that entire evening and night wondering how it was going and what they were playing. They are an amazing band! Yes they are! If you live in eastern washington, it is said they they will be doing a second leg of this tour in summer of 2013. They may possibly be making a stop at The Gorge in quincy. they love playing there and is a great place to see them :-) So keep checking..
  2. Losing it, is about the frustrations of growing old and not being able to do the things you used to be able to in the vigor of your youth. It is somewhat of a dark song but is so true, yet the melody lines are beautiful at the same time and sympathetic.. I would love to hear this song live, it would be very powerful indeed!
  3. Welcome Lorraine, I am a fellow Washingtonian (olympic peninsula sequim area). I hope you were able to make the show at the key arena in seattle last tuesday, it was spectacular!! As far as dvd's, R30 is a must have, the audio is great with stunning visuals! The blu-ray edition includes the entire show, the dvd omits I think five songs. If you want interviews and backstage fottage, get Rush in Rio. The concert is great too! You also gotta see the documentary called "Beyond the Lighted Stage", goes through the entire history of Rush and lots of behind the scenes, with many famous musicians giving them a nod. Time machine tour is an awesome live dvd, as is snakes and arrows. All high energy concerts, but I personally would recommend R30 as first choice
  4. I wish they"d film amphitheater shows, such as one night at Red Rocks, and one night at The Gorge. Now that would be epic!!

    rush dream

I have been having alot of Rush dreams lately, probably because I missed them at the Gorge this year and my heart was set on going to that show for months. Anyway, whenever i have a dream like that, the show starts out really good and then something gets convoluted a ways into it. There will always be some major glitch in the sound system or lighting and they have to stop playing and theres a long wait before they fix it, and most of the crowd clears the venue before they play again. I remember Alex asking me If I could help him turn the stage moniters towards the crowd in case the mains couldn't be fixed. the funny thing is, is that they don't even use stage moniters anymore. Dreams can be so weird yet entertaining. The dream You had is hard to top though. When I have more time I'll post a detailed Rush dream I have had.
  6. One of my fav songs of all time from any band! I have been taking my wife to see Rush concerts for years (her first being the test for echo tour 1997). She always wanted to see them play Time Stand Still and they never did up until the Time machine tour. Now that they played it on both legs of tour, she missed it both times. The first Leg of the tour she was sick, and couldn't make it, and the second leg, we missed out because our ride to the Gorge backed out on us the day before the show and we couldn't scrape up enough money to pull the trip off on our own. (I explained the whole story in another thread). So she had two opportunities to see them play TSS and missed out. What gives?! I think that song should be a staple on every tour!
  7. I'm sure Dream Theater may have given them a nudge as well a porcupine tree. DT is always giving Rush their respect!
  8. I see what your saying. It's just a sentimental thing because I love the Gorge, and Neil said on his website in his journal that it was a magical night for them, probably the best on the tour. Not to mention I was supposed to be at that show. I would rather have an audience boot of the Gorge show than a pro shot dvd from cleveland. The footage on this thread would suffice for me on the dvd as it is pretty darn good for an audience shot. I don't care about the quality, I just want to drink beer and have popcorn and enjoy the show I missed from someone who was cool enough to film it and share it! Btw, I think the release of the official time machine dvd is pushed back to November.
  9. Hello everyone, this is my official first post. I thought this thread would be appropriate since I was supposed to be at this show at The Gorge and something happened the day before. I was supposed to go with a couple of friends who said it was a for-sure thing and I could ride with them (5hr drive). So it was set, but guess what, they wait til the day before the show and they back out on me and go to some lame blues jam out in Forks washington. Therefore, I didn't have time to make other arrangements and I missed out on the show. I had my heart set on that for months. I would just love it if someone could make a dvd copy of that show and share the "greatness with me". I would be glad to send a couple of blank dvr's to the filmer, and I would use it for my own private use only. I'm just bummed I missed out on that show and I would be really greatful to see it on my own TV with a good stereo system. my email is jmsalleejr@gmail.com if anyone is interested in helping me out with this. Thanks a bunch!
