  2. Decisions, decisions.. I suppose I'm going with LVS - the skill is mind-boggling.
  3. I was shocked that Kenneth Brannagh, who normally directs and acts within the Shakespearean range, decided to take it on. He did a good job, I thought.
  4. QUOTE (Good @ bad, andrush,Apr 22 2011, 11:55 AM)QUOTE (Trishkits @ Apr 22 2011, 11:47 AM) This may be a bit of a repeat, but some deserve more than one mention: This is Spinal Tap Rocky Horror ("Castles don't have phones, A@@hole!") A Clockwork Orange Blade Runner Eraserhead Harold and Maude Dr Strangelove And to whomever mentioned Videodrome first.. Nice list A clockwork Orange is a top five for me. Eraserhead, blade runner, and dr. Strangelove are all awesome too Thanks! I think you have great taste, sir. Have you read the novel, A Clockwork Orange? Both the book and movie are worth having on a permanent shelf somewhere.

  7. I haven't seen any previous threads pertaining to the TV show '24', but I'm sure there has to be at least one or two other fans drifting around. Being a big fan myself, I've tried to keep up with the facts as they unfold. Here recently, there has been a lot of talk about the possibility of '24: The Movie' starting production in January 2012, more via word-of-mouth from the main actor, Kiefer Sutherland, than anywhere else. Can anyone actually see this taking place? I mean, the show itself is based in the span of a 24-hour day. How do you wrap up a terrorist plot in 2 hours? Curious on your thoughts.
  8. Great pictures, ladies! I don't feel so alone in my.. interest in Mr. Peart. Less than two weeks ago, I went to my first Rush concert in Nashville and, my sister and I were seated too far back to get good shots, so most of them came out incredibly blurry. But this one, thankfully, is a little less blurry than the rest. Vapor Trails

Considering they were all coming back into an area that hadn't been visited in years, I have no beef with Vapor Trails. Granted - it would have been a bit more wise to set the tracks, like someone else said above, where the best songs weren't at the beginning of the album. It dwindles towards the end, and strays the attention.
  10. QUOTE (BeOhBe Bob @ Apr 21 2011, 06:22 PM)Welcome to TRF! The no shirt no shoes no service sign you passed on the way in..what? it blew down? Damn I better go fix it again! What an opener, I'm glad you found us! Don't change a thing dear, please feel free to share anything with us...safe spot here! and when I say share I mean contraband ok? Contraband, eh? No wonder you people are starved half the time! Thanks man, glad to be here.
  11. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Apr 21 2011, 01:51 PM)Wow, that's an incredible first post! Since you like reading and movies, please check out the sub-forums that I'm privileged to moderate, Turn The Page and Video Vertigo. Jump right in and feel free to talk about anything you like. Welcome aboard and pass those Oreos my way, please. Thanks for that, Jack, it sounds like this place has a little bit of it all. I'll start making my rounds with the hors d'oeuvres. @nettiesaur: And not a moment too soon! I was just thinking, when the rations run out, being a member of Bubba's B&G might come in handy. Nice to see a familiar face!
  12. QUOTE (Mara @ Apr 21 2011, 01:48 PM)QUOTE (GUP1771 @ Apr 21 2011, 02:45 PM) QUOTE (Trishkits @ Apr 21 2011, 01:39 PM) Why was I suddenly reminded of those cardboard signs people hold up with "The End is Near!" written on them? With a forthcoming album in the works? I don't think so. Cheers! Except that OP also thinks the album is destined to be a non-event as well. Which comes full circle back to no reasoning supporting his claim. At least, none that he has shared. "Seriously, guys..."

  14. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 21 2011, 01:26 PM)I was talking about real pie and Oreos. Do you have a food store nearby? We're all kinda hungry. I work at a grocery store, I got 'choo. (Not sure what the Boss man is going say when I tell him I'm buying oreos and pie for a bunch of half-starved, Rush fans. You might have to settle for half-price coupons.)
  15. QUOTE (Good @ bad, andrush,Apr 21 2011, 12:58 PM)QUOTE (Trishkits @ Apr 21 2011, 12:54 PM) Thanks for the welcome, Good, bad, andrush! I plan on hanging around and not just "lurking the boards." As far as how new I am - not too incredibly. I've been going through the album selections friends have suggested (Moving Pictures, Hemispheres, 2112) and, have since branched out from there with Counterparts and the live version of A Show of Hands. My copy of the "Beyond the Lighted Stage" rockumentary came in yesterday, which I'm looking forward to watching -again- tonight. On the way to check out this review! Alrighty, well you'd do well to get the entire catalog. One song may sound like crap to someone else but be a masterpiece to you. That is the beauty of Rush. Me, I enjoy everything they have done because I am an ignorant and stupid fanboyyz. Well, that's also the beauty of agreeing to disagree. Not everyone is going to be satisfied with a final conclusion (if we all thought the same way, this world would be DULL as HELL) so why not retain an open mind and try seeing it from the writer's perspective? Glimpsing through your review thread, it occured to me just how much I haven't listened to yet. I take that back, let's be positive.. how much I still have left to discover. ----------- @ColdFireYYZ & Lost in Xanadu: Thanks, guys! Nice to meet 'cha. @1-0-0-1-0-0-1: Thanks! I don't see anything pie or oreo related in this vast world of blinky, bright emoticons... how about a breakdancing banana and a glass of animated Pepsi?
