  1. Tracked down a record shop selling ALL the ones I have on a list including Caravan/BU2B. Off early on Sat. Wish me luck!
  2. QUOTE (Oracle @ Apr 9 2011, 07:17 AM) I don't think I've cried as hard as I ever have in my life when I listen to 'Washing of the Water' by Peter Gabriel. I can't even tell if it's good tears or bad tears, but it's amazing. The whole of US is pretty emotional personal stuff.
  3. QUOTE (L. Wince @ Apr 6 2011, 02:21 PM) QUOTE (TwentyOneTwelve @ Apr 6 2011, 09:15 AM) Yep saw this for the UK date too! Not sure where you'd have to go exactly because I doubt all stores are going to have one of every LP that's on offer..... Don't want to make a trip only to not be able to find it! I'll have to do some noseying around... if you go to www.recordstoreday.com it gives you a list of perticipating record stores. I put in my area code and found a few. you may have to contact the store to ask them to order it as well. That's what I had to do. There's so many exclusives to be released, im sure that some stores only order certian LP's when requested by a customer. Ahhh I gottcha, thanks for the info. I shall do that immediately!

  6. QUOTE (Ultra @ Mar 26 2011, 01:00 PM) Peter Gabriel on June 10th He is the last of my favorite artists to catch live, and the one I have been waiting to see live for a decade. The last live show he played in my area was in 2003 and I was too poor for that. Ive seen Rush, Roger Waters (because there is no Pink Floyd), The Who, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, all multiple times. But never Peter Gabriel until now. I was lucky enough to see Peter Gabriel last Wednesday and I think I can quite comfortably say that my musical life will never be the same again. I was completely blown away. I hope you have the same experience and I'm sure it'll be worth the long wait!
  7. 3 hours to Manchester by public transport, 2 hours to Brum, 1 1/2 hours to London. Then flying from London to Frankfurt.
  8. Yes! Off to see Joey B play with Jack Bruce and his Blues Band @ the Royal Festival Hall in June!
  9. QUOTE (Good, bad, andrush @ Mar 6 2011, 04:59 PM) 35.GHOST OF A CHANCE 8.5/10 The intro instantly grabs you and pulls you in, and Alex's unpredictable chords supported by geddy's odd bass playing keep you wondering what happens in this song... The verses are great, and nothing that really stands out in the rush catalog, but they're still fun. The real beauty in this song is the chorus, how it enters some transcendental state where you're floating above the ground...but sadness is still about...it's sadness that is also mixed with security, and how rush is able to pull this off is beyond me. Alex plays some of his best stuff here, and offers a brilliant and underrated solo towards the end. Some great stuff from everybody here, even when Neil plays his accented notes during the chorus. It all matches the lyrics perfectly. One of my favourite Rush songs ever. Its all about Alex's guitar tone and his solo is just... beautiful.
  10. Sounds awesome on the new tracks mind so we'll have to see how he holds up live. Off to Germany to see the Union in a couple of weeks! Very excited!

  13. Haha, well quite! Dare I say Pete's pipes may be in better working order live....
  14. Well that may get confusing then. They're supporting Whitesnake later in the year! And yes Pete's voice is awesome.
  15. Yep best new band 2010. They performed at the awards night too which you can see
  16. Has anyone here heard of/is a fan of, a band called The Union? They're a cracking band formed from the ashes of Thunder and Winterville by guitarist Luke Morley and singer/guitarist Peter Shoulder. Whole range of musical elements in there, but they have a great blues/rock feel about them, especially live. Website here should you be interested You can get quite a few of their songs on free downloads. Their very first offering was Brilliant, brilliant band.
  17. Ah a fan of the 'tasche clearly! Awesome wallpaper!
  18. QUOTE (Earthshine Emmeline @ Feb 28 2011, 01:34 PM)QUOTE (YYZrocks @ Feb 27 2011, 08:58 PM) Here's another one of my favorite (over 60) rock star hotties. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.spinner.com/media/2007/06/lindsey-buckingham-200-06.jpg Would that happen to be Lindsey Buckingham?? I was just about to ask that! Sorry there's only one Fleetwood Mac guitarist for me: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/images/episode/b00k92x1_640_360.jpg
  19. Very much hoping to get tickets for one of his UK tour dates in October which go on sale tomorrow. Glad you had a great time, he really is a magnificent live force. Oh and last tour he came on to '2 Minutes to Midnight' by Maiden. I was singing along and doing the actions you see the crew do in Flight 666 and got laughed at by the rest of the front row! Oh and that's a great shot WP! Still have yet to see BCC, hope to rectify this soon!
