I love vegetables. I have no problems with food except uncooked tomatoes. Absolutely horrid.

I am 100% certain that Luke isn't going to the dark side. The true force user has to use both sides of the force to balance, hence the greys. The Jedi served the Senate, everyone knew that, but they are equally as wrong as the Sith. The only way to end the Sith is to end the Jedi. Jedi users have a tendency to go to the Sith and become insanely powerful, i.e. Vader, Kylo Ren, Palpatine etc. The point is that they both must exist, chaos and order, and that the term for the Last Jedi is referring to Luke being the one to end it, to end the Sith. I love how they find the Triumph of the Whills in the Jedi Temple on Ach To. It's a great conclusion and full circle. Luke isn't going to the dark side, that would be a corporate suicide. Luke was meant to go on the original Return of the Jedi script, but George Lucas knew that Luke wouldn't sell as much if he became a dark side user. Booo! I hate George Lucas but I love him. It's depressing how consumed by money he is

I doubt it. She’s not well thought of these days. I doubt many would admit to owning her books for fear of being called a fascist. It is the insult du jour. Ayn Rand could not be further from fascism. As someone who identifies with that term, I can speak with others that her views on Objectives are far from any fascist thought. That said, Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead are interesting to read from an objective (no pun intended) perspective. As for English teachers not knowing her, I'd say that's a far cry. Maybe haven't read her, but definitely know her. I'm sure not every teacher has read War & Peace or Anna Karenina but know who Tolstoy is.

I'm seriously enjoying Canamii. Awesome stuff

So? I'm sure every English teacher has a copy of that book lying around. Ayn Rand is highly influential and not unheard of.

One of my favorite progressive rock albums. Who else is a fan of ultra obscure prog? Post them here

The big clash of rock Titans: Led Zeppelin or Rush?
Nate2112 replied to Texas King's topic in Feedback
Rush easily. Led Zepplin is overrated as all hell -
VERY tough choice but I go with Totem.

Your favorite post-synth era Rush studio album(1989-2012)?
Nate2112 replied to Texas King's topic in Rush
Hard choice, but Presto. Counterparts, Test for Echo and Snakes & arrows are close -

Heard of the name, never listened. Looks interesting! Thanks! The artist, an Italian who goes by Mr. Doctor, is an eccentric character... The Girl Who Was... Death, was inspired by the 1967 British television series The Prisoner. 500 copies of the album were originally pressed, in the beginning of 1989, of which only 150 were released. These were distributed out amongst the audience of the second live performance of the composition (the first had occurred before the pressing of the album), each with a unique inlay created by Mr. Doctor. Some of these inlays were written in his own blood. The remaining 350 copies of the album were destroyed by Mr. Doctor once he returned home. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_Doll_(Slovenian_band) Sounds cool. I've heard worse though, with some members of a black metal band I like signing the album with a mix of blood, tears and semen as well as having a white canvas splattered distinctly with the blood of the musician. Limited to one copy. -

This is a RUSH forum, not an LGBT safe space. I'd like if we could focus it on the band, instead of a common place forum that we discuss Rush on the side. As Lorraine said, there are plenty of gay forums for your posting pleasure

I don't because I'm not Geddy Lee. /thread

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-bTcOEHkqg Easily, the greatest Dungeon Synth/Dark Ambient release ever made. I'm such a fan of this subgenre, and hopefully I can convert a few people to the great religion.

But ya see, people who suckle at the teat of Rush, especially Geddy, make these determinations without ever having met or talked to the guy, and even if they did, it was for 10 seconds at a meet and greet. Or they see some footage of an interview and decide he's the nicest guy (and one of the most attractive) in world. I seriously think he's a good looking guy. Never met him obviously. http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/images/tourbooks/holdyourfire/holdyourfire-6.jpg

What is it that you love about your favorite Rush album?
Nate2112 replied to Entre_Perpetuo's topic in Rush
Hold Your Fire + Power Windows are my favorite Rush albums because I'm a synth fanboy, aside from that, the aesthetic of the band had reached a high point, and in my opinion, the whole stoner nerd kimonobros was dead. Although, Hemispheres and AFTK are at #4 and #5 respectably, Hold Your Fire + Power Windows had something that I haven't seen in a band before. Sure, New Wave + Synth Rock was at an all time high, but the musicianship of Rush had been taking the trend at time and intensifying it a thousand fold. It's like if Beethoven was alive and he orchestrated a generic radio pop tune. I love the oriental tinge that HYF has, and the cold stark and urban tone Power Windows has. Rush has been a highly aesthetic and artistic band. Every album is presented in such a way t hat they are highly unique, and the aesthetic they had on those records are absolutely amazing. If I wanted to listen to Prog, Rush would NOT be my first choice, I have Van der graaf generator, Porcupine Tree and the like for that. If I want metal, I sure as hell don't go to Rush first. PW & HYF have a sound that is distinct and executed perfectly. If Rush never made another Rock album after Presto, I would be more than happy. At this point, their musicianship and creativity peaked. EDIT: Visually as well, Rush triumphs, and HYF especially is an incredibly visual and artistic album -
I never understood why people say the entire song is awful because of a line in the chorus. I mean, that's pretty sad

Ahh, the folly of youth. :P What folly? I'm sure us youngsters know good prog, and Rush certainly isn't the best Prog band out there. Fellow HYF fanboys stick together.
