  1. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Mar 18 2011, 03:39 PM) mozarella sticks. Marinara sauce is good. Raspberry is better! (try it. amazing). steamers (clams that is) You mean deep-fried breaded Mozzarella sticks? With raspberry sauce? hmmm, I'm willing to give it a try, but I might just go with string cheese to forego the breading. (I'm not real keen on deep-fried breaded stuff these days) Yeah, Steamed clams are delicious, but I usually make a meal of those!
  2. QUOTE (Mara @ Mar 18 2011, 03:19 PM) Oh, I also love those mini-tart thingies and little puff pastries full of yummy stuff. And nothing beats smoked salmon, though I could eat a pile of that just for a meal. mmmmmm LOVE smoked salmon! love lox, too!
  3. QUOTE (Mara @ Mar 17 2011, 12:09 PM) QUOTE (summer_sky @ Mar 17 2011, 01:06 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Mar 16 2011, 10:03 PM) Powdered. I don't get it It's Ren & Stimpy reference to the comic's superhero, Powdered Toast Man. Of course he had his own brand of breakfast cereal, Powdered Toast, which came in a can with a sprinkle top. Its advertising tagline was "It tastes just like sawdust!" and it didn't taste quite right unless Powdered Toast Man farted on it first. ooooh, ok. I've heard of Ren & Stimpy, but have never seen the show. thanks

  12. QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Mar 16 2011, 11:15 AM)... I've tried opening from the bottom just recently (like the monkeys do.. not Monkees ) and it is a lot easier. Plus then you have a nice handle to hold onto when you get towards the bottom! This is the way I peel them, too. The 'strings'are more likely to pull away with the peel. This method is also eating them from the 'top' down to the 'bottom'. The stalk end is the bottom of the fruit... where it attaches to the banana tree. Bananas grow in bunches UP from the stalk of the tree... toward the sun. See here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pun...banana_tree.jpg And, I like my bananas just as they turn yellow with a teeney weeny bit of green to them... I cannot eat a soft mushy banana. I like bananas with a bit of firmness to them

  14. QUOTE (Finding IT @ Mar 10 2011, 02:38 PM) QUOTE (summer_sky @ Mar 10 2011, 11:02 AM) QUOTE (Finding IT @ Mar 10 2011, 10:42 AM) ...I had Macaroni and Cheese with Black Truffle Oil once. ... Now, why on earth would you do that to Black Truffle Oil !? Well, perhaps I wasn't quite as forthcoming as I could have been. We're not really talking about a box of Kraft (which I also like, btw). This dish was served at Charleston's which is a five-star gourmet restaurant featuring low-country food from the mid-Atlantic region. http://www.charlestonrestaurant.com/menus/...AIN_2.24.11.pdf Just amazing. wowie, nice menu, indeed!

  16. QUOTE (The Owl @ Mar 2 2011, 09:32 PM) QUOTE (Invisible To Telescopic Eye @ Mar 2 2011, 07:14 PM) Guiness...pure garbage...and I don't care if I'm spelling it wrong or not...it's crap. I don't think it tastes that bad, but what I don't like about Guinness is having a bitter beer followed by that light of a finish... Don't get me wrong, I like bitter beers, but Guiness does not have the body to follow the bitterness.... I might enjoy the extra stout, but I've never tried one. EDIT TO ADD: And what the f**k is up with the little rattling thing in the bottom of a Guinness bottle? you guys aren't drinking REAL Guinness.. you are drinking the stuff that is made to be marketed in the USA as a novelty beer. Draught Guinness Stout is delicious
  17. pizza margherita!
  18. i really must become more active! I sit all day at a desk and then do not get as much exercise as I should after work.
  19. I'm on a seafood diet... I see food and I eat it! Seriously, I used to diet by counting calories. I would lose a lot of weight, stop counting calories and next thing I'd know I'd gained back all I lost PLUS more. So, now, I am struggling to learn to modify my eating habits into healthy choices.
  20. I just received a copy of a book that my grandmother lent to me when I was a young girl and remember enjoying very much. I bought it on Amazon... Hannah Fowler by Janice Holt Giles. An historical novel of an American pioneer woman making a life in the Kentucky wilderness.
