Not done my homework yet. Anyone know any good boozers (preferably selling real ale) near the Arena?

theres a place called the union rooms that has guest beers and ciders,

its also quite cheap.

turn right out of the central station and walk about 100 yards down the road, cross over and you should see a large building with steps at the front. its a canny pub with a few different rooms downstairs and up.

its a 10 min walk to the arena from there with more pubs on the way.

Sounds fine to me, we're hitting town around 4ish, so once we've checked in, we'll be heading out. We'll head for there first.

a few more ideas for anyone going out early for a drink.

you could go straight onto newcastle keyside and make your way along and back up towards the central station.

some canny bars and good views along the key if thats your thing.

or you could start at the haymarket [station end] and work your way along one long street with loads of bars including one that plays rock music[percy arms].

these are your old style bars more suited to the older people,2112 era.

again this will lead you in the direction of the central station if your not to pi***d. trink38.gif
