samurai1993
Since some weeks I've been wondering about the mic Geddy used until the mid 80's It can be seen in Exit... Stage Left http://i.imgur.com/c2a94b6.png Also in the good olde Passaic boot: http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/7161/xliu.png If I run a search for Rush/Geddy mics and gear, it's mostly 2000 - x stuff... so, any clues? Rush_Experience_Band
They were great because of the tight pattern, you have to be up close to the mike in the front of it to get a good sound- back in the day we used them for horn players to keep other stage sounds from getting picked up The Audix VX-5 is a modern mic that behaves and sounds a lot like this one to me...If you get more than 4 inches from the mic it's like it's turned off, needs lots of close up energy to pass the sound thru
CygnusX-1Bk2
Well the singer and guitar player of the band I was in each bought one around 1985. It was a very tight pattern but was fairly close to a SM58 or 57. Nothing spectacular. I still record with the guitar player. He has 2 other EVs from that era but not this one anymore. It was great for live work because it took a lot for them to feedback. That was their selling point.
