upstateNYfan
Concerts have indeed become very expensive but at least I get GREAT value with the cost associated with a Rush ticket. Generally all my concert expense is with one band so it doesn't affect me. Compared to going to a football, hockey or basketball game, a Rush concert is still a fabulous deal. I'm just glad that it's 2013 and we can still be talking about the cost of Rush tickets. Definitely! :haz:
calirush
In trying to conclude this Ticket prices are not higher just because of inflation but because bands don't make the money off of album sales like they did at one time. Years ago a band would tour to give exposure to sell records to make money. Now a band tries to sell/give away/ do whatever they can to build enough following to fill a concert venue, to make money. Rush has stated that they don't make a lot from the ticket sales but from merchandise sold. That is one reason that they asked police to intervene and stop the non-approved merchandise sales at events.
