I remember seeing Heart back in 1982 when they suppoerted Queen and being totally blown away by them. At the time, they weren't particularly well known in the UK - that didn't really happen until later in the '80s when Heart and Bad Animals came out. Sadly, neither of these two really moved me (except for Alone which I think is a great song).

Cool!!! I wish they would tour...I have no clue if they will ever tour again. But they should!!!

I seen Heart in the mid 80's, the blonde was hot.

That's when they came out with that song that says "Hey baby Imma talkin to you, so stop yourself and listen" laugh.gif

One of my favorite songs is called "City's Burnin'" from their Private Sessions album in 1982. It was quite a MTV favorite as I recall.

I saw them on tour then too, at The Meadowlands in Jersey. My friend in HS worked at a record store, and we scored 14th row seats for next to nothing. Honeymoon Suite was the opening band - The Big Prize was their album, and they ROCKED!! laugh.gif

Heart put on a great sounding show, they are excellent.

One of my most favourite bands for me is Heart.  I think because there are two women fronting the group, certainly adds a novelty to it.  Nancy Wilson is one freaking guitar player! She's soo fast!...Ever listen to the beginning of "Crazy On You"?  If not please do.  Ann Wilson has such an amazing voice!!  I myself am not a singer laugh.gif  but I can see where she definately adds that *something* that makes Heart complete. Anyone else like em'?

  heart.gif rocks!

heart.gif totally 1022.gif dude!!! I've loved Heart forever and a day. Was playing Crazy on You when I was like 15 on the guitar after my brother showed it to me smile.gif

I like Heart too. I'm more and older Heart fan though. I didn't really like their "Power Ballad" phase.

Dreamboat Annie is easily one of my all time favourite albums.

Been a HEART fan a long time. I was a very young kid when i was at an outdoor festival with my older brother and sister and my cousins in Connecticut. I had no idea we were at a rock concert. I remember when Magic Man came on that i recognized that song from the radio. I kindof forgot that until years later when i got into Heart for real when Passionworks came out. Up until then, they were just a radio band to me. I never got any of their stuff. But my sister came to visit me and i was playing it and she asked if i remembered seeing them when i was like 8. I said i remember being there but was it really Heart? She said yeah, and i thought that was cool, but really didn't remember it. So when they went on tour for Passionworks i saw them four times. Then when they got super popular in the late eighties i saw them a few more times. Passionworks has to be the best album to ... uh... you know... lurve to all night.

Cool ... yea, that was their second time they achieved such popularity. To me their best era was from the 70s. Dreamboat Annie, Little Queen (my favorite), Magazine and "Dog and Butterfly" ... four GREAT albums. If you have the chance, pick them up.

The cool thing too, heart reinvented themselves in the 80s and that second great run.

Ok so everyone knows how Heart had definatly the "Drummer Blues"

There was.... *drum roll please* ha-ha

Ray Shaefe (unknown)

Brian Johnstone (unknown)

Mike Derosie (1975-1982)

Denny Carmassi (1982-1993)

Denny Fongheiser (1993-1995)

Ben Smith (2002-2005)

Which was your favourite drummer?

I liked Mike during the "rock" Era of Heart also then when the 80's came I loved Denny Carmassi's stuff. Now I'm in love with Ben Smith!

What say you?

By far, my fav is Mike Derosie, in fact, he is one of my favorite overall. Carmassi did a great job, but Derosie was da man.

hey D, have you seen the behinds the Music show on Heart? It is great. It really goes back to the very beginning including the reasons they moved to Vancouver and thus were thought of as a Canadian band for a great while.

Also, those are some great pics!

I gotta go with Carmassi. He's the original drummer for Montrose and while they may not be that huge, the debut album MONTROSE may well be the best album in rock history. Sammy Hagar's BEST (without argument) performance on vinyl of his entire life. But Denny rocked then and he was much calmer with Heart, but still had the skills. His solo during their live show in the mid eighties was bettered by one certain Canadian skins master only.

Has anyone seen "Almost Famous"? It was made in 2000. It's kinda cool considering Cameron Crowe (Nancy Wilson's hubby) made the movie (which by the way, was damn good! ). The band in it, Stillwater, was pretty much directed by Heart... Ann and Nancy wrote the songs lyrically...and everyone wrote the instrumental parts for the actors. I think thats pretty damn rad.

anyways just bumping this thread lol

I hope Heart tours again. If so...i'm certainly going on a road trip!
