android/Iphone apps to promote band

Recommended Posts

I just found this today in my Reverbnation control panel: A free 30 day trial to design your own app for your band! Everyone loves free apps, right? And whether your fan club consists of only your dog and your mom, or you're on a regional uhaul/pop-tart tour, how kewl is it to have your own app with songs, pics, bio, etc which is searchable in the android market?? If you find it's helpful keep it for $99 usd per year and if you don't, just cancel it!

I just setup ours and it was so easy even I could do it... yes.gif

Reverb Nation

This is not an ad. Now is the. Best time in the history of rock to self promote and actually stand a chance at gaining fans easier than ever before. This is one more angle that is worth looking at.

How about for iPhone?

Yes cyg. You can get both. Plus fb apps...

I thought it was pretty cool so I shared. It feeds off your reverbnation account. Once you have you r.n. page setup the app design process only takes a few minutes.

The app is working like a charm! We gained 11,000 points in the national (usa) rankings in the rock genre JUST SINCE LAST NIGHT.

You guys are nuts if u don't climb aboard. And yes, iphone apps too.

I saw this post the other day and decided to create an app. Thanks for the tip!

Sweet Nasty now has an Android App as well.

Cyg,

I don't want you to think I was bragging on that email I sent ya. Was just sharing that the app appears to be helping us as far as reverbnation goes.

Definitely is peaking people's curiousity in us more than ever...

You multiple band peeps amaze me. I can barely keep up with my one band. Every couple months a friend needs a drummer and I try to help out, but I always let them down. In fact, just got a call last night to get paid $375/show plus travel expenses for a motown/classic rock band. Hmmmm..

Do you have secrets, or do you just not party? lol

Thanks so much, Launchpad, for promoting us! Sunny told me about it... My friends love your band name, btw!!

This app thing is well worth the money. Just got a call last night requesting an in-store appearance at a tattoo parlour out in Hillsdale, MI. More airplay, too!

Just downloaded "Sweet Nasty's" app! Checking out the tunes. We play with a band called shagg nasty, btw. lol

Sorry for the play-by-play but this is getting crazy. The Director of Promotions for Capitol Records just went to our reverbnation page upon my singer's request and says he likes our sound, started asking questions. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, right?

Yep, App's are a great promo tool, maybe the best. So glad you noticed this at Reverb Nation.

Sounds like you guys are getting results from it already. That's freakin' fantastic!

Yeah, playing in multiple bands is challenging to say the least, especially when they are all working a lot. At one point last year I was in 3 at once, and It Sucked!! Now I play in 2, but only because it's manageable. Sweet Nasty only plays a gig or two a month, but we are an all original band. My other band, Filabusta, plays 2-3 gigs a week, but we are 90% covers and it's a big money maker. Both bands are really popular around the state and could play as little or as much as we want, but this system works for now. The bass player from Sweet Nasty is also in Filabusta, so that makes it a little easier. Neither band really rehearses either, so it's not so bad.

I'm glad your friends like the band name. Personally I hate it! wink.gif It's treated us pretty well though.

We got Rockstar Energy Drink to sponsor our CD Release Party and they're reviewing our Reverbnation page for a full recording sponsorship including a support tour subject to our availablity. Well, it's nice to be supported, even it it's a little bit. Having the Rockstar Van parked in front of the venue never seems to hurt...

Wow. Very cool indeed.

I just want to play "Pine Knob" (an outdoor venue in my area now called "DTE Energy") once before I go, that's all. I'm not young enough to do a "U-Haul Pop Tart Tour". lmao

Rockstar would likely pass us for a less progressive band, but it never hurts to throw your hat in the pot I suppose.

Thanks, Cyg.
