Never a good thing. bit of a necropost, but stumbled across this whilst looking for something else....I agree, the fire went when Richey disappeared....his lyrics never appeared preachy because the anger in them was white hot, practically righteous and honest to the core....unfortunately so was the grief and despair too, and they often provided a very uncomfortable view into a deeply trouble soul...I suppose some people just burn too brightly and briefly, and all we have left is the legacy of his tortured genius.
