QUOTE (Mandalorian Hunter @ May 22 2009, 12:11 PM) QUOTE (Steevo @ May 21 2009, 09:27 PM) QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ May 22 2009, 06:56 AM) Every album since The Holy Bible has disappointed me, so I'm not so sure about investing in it.

Me too. I have lost the faith to spend out but cant wait to sample. I somehow doubt its near the class of THB though, Ritchie was a huge contribution after all.

He's made a huge contribution to this record aswell.

It's his lyrics? I read that somewhere.

They seemed to lose their anger when he disappeared, and became preachy. Never a good thing.

bit of a necropost, but stumbled across this whilst looking for something else....I agree, the fire went when Richey disappeared....his lyrics never appeared preachy because the anger in them was white hot, practically righteous and honest to the core....unfortunately so was the grief and despair too, and they often provided a very uncomfortable view into a deeply trouble soul...I suppose some people just burn too brightly and briefly, and all we have left is the legacy of his tortured genius.
