barney_rebel
Caught this one earlier in the week With Siggy Poo's brother. Good thriller, surprisingly good acting from Jessica Alba, but the movie was nowhere near as good as the original Chinese version.
Necromancer
Saw it last night with CeeJypoo and my daughter. Thought it sucked all kinds of ass. Jessica didn't even save it with some nudity in the shower seen.

Mustard Death
QUOTE (floydfanatic111 @ Feb 10 2008, 12:54 AM) Jessica Alba She is a lousy actress, lousy looking thing. Now come on floydfanatic, your rabid, endless hate for everything that isn't related to David Gilmour shouldn't be able to stop you from noticing that she's pretty good looking... not as amazing as a lot of people say, but at least pretty good. Anyways, this movie looks horrible... I probably won't be seeing.

There's so much wrong with this it's not even funny. Watch Idle Hands and Sin City and tell me that honestly. If you still can, turn in your hetero card immediately.....just kidding, but not really. afurrything
I loved the original. I hated what the Americanized version of Ju-On was like so I will probably never see the American version of The Eye.

Don't mean to spoil the movie, but just so you know the Hollywood version's ending is a bit different. From a story perspective, I don't think it ruined the story. I'll probably break down and rent it when it comes out on DVD. I hated how The Grudge was changed so much. But I have to confess I actually liked the American version of The Ring better than Ringu. It just seemed to have more of a story, or more subplots maybe.
Tick
I think all these American remakes of these Japanese horror movies are way overated. Its a trend that should end. The Grunge just flat out sucked ! Jessica Alba may be a weak actress, but she is Merl Streep compared to Sarah Michelle Geller. I did like The Ring but none of the other remakes were any good, at least not the ones i've seen.

I do hear the Hollywood is just as good, if not better. They have ads out for the Thai movie, The Shutter. I gotta see that one for sure. Korean horror, A Tale of Two Sisters is being remade too. Haven't seen any of those.
