Arleen2112
Woke up to this tune this morning Why try? Now why? This feeling inside me says it's time I was gone Clear head, new life ahead Its time i was king and not just one more pawn. Fly by night, away from here Change my life again Fly by night, goodbye my dear My ship isn't coming and I just can't pretend Moon rise, thoughtful eyes Staring back at me from the window beside No fright or hindsight Leaving behind that empty feeling inside Start a new chapter I find what I'm after It's changing every day The change of a season Is enough of a reason To want to get away Quiet and pensive My thoughts apprehensive The hours drift away Leaving my homeland Playing a lone hand My life begins today http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j36/arleen2112/TRF/ar2112/fbnowl.gif

joanneeeeee
Invisible to telescopic eye Infinity, the star that would not die All who dare to cross her course Are swallowed by her fearsome force Through the void To be destroyed Or is there something more? Atomized...at the core? Or through the Astral Door? To soar... I set a course just east of Lyra And northwest of Pegasus Flew into the light of Deneb Sailed across the Milky Way On my ship, the "Rocinante" Wheeling through the galaxies, Headed for the heart of Cygnus Headlong into mystery The x-ray is her siren song My ship cannot resist her long Nearer to my deadly goal Until the black hole Gains control... Spinning, whirling, Still descending Like a spiral sea, Unending... Sound and fury Drown my heart Every nerve Is torn apart...
joanneeeeee
Tunnel seems so long Touching the bottom A slim reflexion Punctured my vision I didn't notice Beside the last door Standing on nothing There was a mirror Even inside...scrutinized I am, he is, the face I hate Refracting cells and prismed self Who's x who's y in a blank place I can't believe this is my image Like the mirror without a frame Baring a scarred side Open in daylight Recoil and reply Farside of my pride The introspection Ruptures the blood core Magnification Draws out the mirror Seeking me out What will he find? I am, he is, a repugnant state I can't shake this curiosity My privacy starts to fade I can't believe this is my image Like the mirror A polar exchange He gloating over my fleeting image He used to be me He knows who is free How long will I wait...here Stuck in this void place...here I can't believe I am the immage Within the mirror Into the chrome lake The glass is broken But I look the same

BestIKenster
Know your place in life is where you want to be Don't let them tell you that you owe it all to me Keep on looking forward; no use in looking 'round Hold your head above the ground and they won't bring you down Anthem of the heart and anthem of the mind A funeral dirge for eyes gone blind We marvel after those who sought New wonders in the world, wonders in the world, Wonders in the world they wrought. Live for yourself -- there's no one else More worth living for Begging hands and bleeding hearts will Only cry out for more Well, I know they've always told you Selfishness was wrong Yet it was for me, not you, I Came to write this song
BestIKenster
The dancer slows her frantic pace In pain and desperation, Her aching limbs and downcast face Aglow with perspiration Stiff as wire, her lungs on fire, With just the briefest pause - The flooding through her memory, The echoes of old applause. She limps across the floor And closes her bedroom door... The writer stares with glassy eyes - Defies the empty page His beard is white, his face is lined And streaked with tears of rage. Thirty years ago, how the words would flow With passion and precision, But now his mind is dark and dulled By sickness and indecision And he stares out the kitchen door Where the sun will rise no more... Some are born to move the world - To live their fantasies But most of us just dream about The things we'd like to be Sadder still to watch it die Than never to have known it For you - the blind who once could see - The bell tolls for thee... joanneeeeee
The night is black Without a moon. The air is thick and still. The vigilantes gather on The lonely torchlit hill. Features distorted in the flickering light, The faces are twisted and grotesque. Silent and stern in the sweltering night, The mob moves like demons possesed. Quiet in conscience, calm in their right, Confident their ways are best. The righteous rise With burning eyes Of hatred and ill-will. Madmen fed on fear and lies To beat and burn and kill. They say there are strangers who threaten us, are immigrants and infidels. They say there is strangeness too dangerous In our theaters and bookstore shelves. Those who know what's best for us Must rise and save us from ourselves. Quick to judge, Quick to anger, Slow to understand Ignorance and prejudice And fear walk hand in hand... Jaye
I never ever thought these times would go I never really thought we'd drift so far Now oceans part our contact Misty eyes of memory Pictures make no substitute Pick up your eyes and grow It's so hard So long, so long I still remember things that now have changed Early mornings in blue water I wanna be kept in mind by you, with no disguise I need you in my eyes I miss you now, miss you now... BestIKenster
He's got a star map of Hollywood A list of cheap motels All along the freeway She's got a sister out in Vegas The promise of a decent job Far away from her hometown They travel on the road to redemption A highway out of yesterday - that tomorrow will bring Like lovers and heroes, birds in the last days of spring We're only at home when we're on the wing On the wing WHEN WE ARE YOUNG WANDERING THE FACE OF THE EARTH WONDERING WHAT OUR DREAMS MIGHT BE WORTH LEARNING THAT WE'RE ONLY IMMORTAL - FOR A LIMITED TIME Time is a gypsy caravan Steals away in the night To leave you stranded in Dreamland Distance is a long-range filter Memory a flickering light Left behind in the heartland We travel in the dark of the new moon A starry highway traced on the map of the sky Like lovers and heroes, lonely as the eagle's cry We're only at home when we're on the fly On the fly
joanneeeeee
You and I, we are strangers by one chromosome Slave to the hormone, body and soul In a struggle to be happy and free Swimming in a primitive sea You and I, we must dive below the surface A world of red neon and ultramarine Shining bridges on the ocean floor Reaching to the alien shore For you and me, sex is not a competition For you and me, sex is not a job description For you and me We agree You and I, we are pressed into these solitudes Colour and culture, language and race Just variations on a theme Islands in a much larger stream For you and me, race is not a competition For you and me, race is not a definition For you and me We agree But that's just us... Reaching for the alien shore You and I, we reject these narrow attitudes We add to each other, like a coral reef Building bridges on the ocean floor Reaching for the alien shore For you and me, race is not a competition For you and me, sex is not a definition For you and me, we hold these truths to be self-evident For you and me, we'd elect each other president For you and me We might agree But that's just us... Reaching for the alien shore Like the James Taylor song, so sad though
joanneeeeee
All of the seasons and all of the days All of the reasons why I've felt this way So long... So long Then lost in that feeling I looked in your eyes I noticed emotion and that you had cried For me, I can see What would touch me deeper... Tears that fall from eyes that only cry? Would it touch you deeper Than tears that fall from eyes that know why? A lifetime of questions, tears on your cheek I tasted the answers and my body was weak For you, The truth. What would touch me deeper... Tears that fall from eyes that only cry? Would it touch you deeper Than tears that fall from eyes that know why?
