ReflectedLight
I would love, love to hear an all instrumental album on there next go around. I'm just a big fan of instrumentals. I'm not saying every song has to be like TMMB, or YYZ, but different tempos is cool. I guess it doesn't hurt to dream.
wordsmith
I do love the instrumentals, particularly when they use them as an excuse to stretch out musically when freed of the conventional constraints of verse/chorus song structure. But I think they work better as a "now and then" contrast, kind of like recess. The vocals and lyrics are such a strong part of the makeup of Rush, I think a whole release without them would seem lacking. I made a CD containing only the instrumentals and never play it; I found I enjoyed those songs more when they are surrounded by tracks with vocals. They stand out more as something special.
