Kind of a non-story, but it's a good example of how a rumor can get out of hand.

Dark Horizons reports:

Yesterday, Tonight Online reported that the tantalisingly flexible popmaster Justin Timberlake had won the title role in New Line's planned "Iron Man" comic to film adaptation.

The lead part of alcoholic billionaire Tony Stark who becomes a superhero after inventing an iron super-suit, has been talked about for years with Tom Cruise the most famous name linked to it. One big reason though for Timberlake's name coming up is that he is currently filming "Alpha Dog" for "Iron Man" director Nick Cassavetes.

A big problem with all these rumors though, they're fake. IGN FilmForce was advised that there is no truth whatsoever to the reports. All that's confirmed is that "Iron Man" begins filming sometime in 2005 for a Summer 2006 release.
