Jack Aubrey
This just in from Movie Web: QUOTE According to Variety, Russell Crowe will star as the Sheriff in Ridley Scott's new drama Nottingham. Produced by Brian Grazer, this unique take on the Robin Hood myth finds Crowe's noble and brave lawman working for a shady king. The upstanding enforcement officer will also engage himself in a love triangle between Maid Marion and Robin Hood. The script was written by Showtime's Sleeper Cell creators Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris. Russell Crowe became attached when Universal picked up the spec screenplay. Scott plans on directing the movie as soon as he finishes his untitled CIA thriller for Warner Brothers, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio. Production on Nottingham begins in 2008. Well, anything directed by Ridley Scott is enough to draw me in. Just as long as he doesn't put Crowe in green tights.
Slaine mac Roth
Oh god, what are they going to do to Robin Hood now? Still, it can't be as bad as letting Kevin Costner play him.

treeduck
Crowe would be better as Little John, let's hope he doesn't start too many pub brawls while he's there...

Actually, considering his expanding waistline during the filming of Master and Commander, wouldn't Friar Tuck be better?
