treeduck
QUOTE (tick @ Apr 15 2007, 10:07 AM) Kansas is just plain awesome !!! goobs doesnt even know they exist, and he calls himself a diehard 70s prog. fan. yeah right. Too many hard rock and metal fans like Kansas for Goobs, it spoils his elitest psychedelic/70s prog "image" ie if he's not the authority on it (amongst non-hippy types at least) then he turns his nose up. If Kansas had never had a hit and were so underground we'd never heard of them, then he'd be the biggest Kansas freak alive...

The best song from their first album, and they've always played it well live. The Two For The Show version smokes. Tree alread posted that great clip of "The Pinnacle," and here's an AMAZING clip of Icarus (Borne on Wings of Steel). Love the 3-part counterpoint at 2:17. That's cool, I couldn't find that one, apparently this song is Steve Walsh's favourite...

Your_Lion
Awesome :haz:I'd love to have some early Kansas on DVD. The earliest one I've seen available is that one with John Elefante singing
treeduck
Elefante was really good, about as good a replacement for Walsh as they could have got. I enjoy the two albums he did with Kansas (I have the newly packaged and remastered editions) but he never could match Steve.
