I have the corner basement room and it's away from the middle of the house....you can barely hear it through the house... What kinds of rooms do you have? I would never let that discourage you from playing them BUT, while you live at home you should always consider your parents wishes!! Like D said, if you could soundproof a room, that might do the trick. Or, lord forbid...buy an electronic kit and play with headphones anytime of day or night.
