I can report she is not at the Dolce Vita pizza joint I went to for lunch. It's another place ticked of the list. I'm (hopefully) offline from tomorrow for a 3-4 weeks togo back into the mountains. rushgoober Posted April 25, 2006 Share Posted April 25, 2006 (edited) i have a confession to make to all of you here. i hope that you don't hate me and in time will forgive me for what i've done. many here may have assumed that my flame of hope had become snuffed, but really nothing could be further from the truth. about 6 weeks ago i found hilda, and the light, like the heat of an enormous flame, returned to my life. it actually wasn't too hard as she had been looking for me too, and we had been reading signs and omens in tea leaves, chicken gizzards and in the advertisements of people magazine issues from the early to mid 70's for months. hilda and I have been through a tremendous amount together over the past several millennia in several galaxies, so it was really inevitable that we would meet again. anyway, she's been living in my basement. i must admit being very selfish in wanting her all to myself for a time before sharing her, and our time together has indeed been glorious. we've spent many a night eating microwaved popcorn on my old musty couch reliving old times while constantly adjusting the rabbit ears of my old black and white tv with elaborate aluminum foil creations. my wife was first a little wary of my relationship with hilda, but she eventually realized it was completely platonic, and the light and warmth of hilda's presence has enriched her life as it has mine. it is as if i have been reborn. alas, even as i was ready to reveal her to everyone in a blaze of glory, she again disappeared from my life. she too was excited about the triumphant return to TRF as she'd been following this thread eagerly since her arrival at chez goob, but i have again lost her. i know she's out there and i can feel her looking for me as i look for her, but right now she is somewhere lost in the universe, suspended in time, trying to find her way back. sometimes unusual circumstances occur that none of us can predict that cause these things, and it is pointless to discuss why or how she was again taken away. i would rather make constructive use of our time by again taking up the quest of finding her. i am printing flyers and am starting a letter writing campaign to all governments and to schoolchildren throughout the world to assist in the search. until then, my flame of hope burns brighter than i could have ever imagined possible. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f72/rushgoober5/rushgoober2/burning-planet.jpg sincerely, goober Edited April 25, 2006 by rushgoober Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Unfortunately, I travelled too far back. I ended up near a well in North Africa around the third century. When I arrived, I happened upon a babe of a woman. One could say she was almost a princess. She also seemed familiar. So I thought I'd chat her up a bit. I started to wonder, as I talked to the princess, if she was an ancestor of our lost Hilda. We started into some small talk when all of a sudden some armored bucket-head idiot on a white horse comes galloping up and tries to skewer me. "Forsooth, yon foul beast," he bellowed. "Thine wickedness shall be dispatched." I had no idea what he was talking about, so I tried to tell the guy I was just talking to the babe. "Insolence! St George will not be deceived by thine forked tongue!" St George? Man, was that guy full of himself. Well, unfortunately I had to get out of there if I wanted to save my skin.
