darth by tor
I play the Bass, But im not a particularly techincally minded. So I was wondering if anybody out there knew what particular technique Geddy utilises in the verses of the song?
1-0-0-1-0-0-1
I believe they're called double stops. Cyg could probably explain it better than me.
CygnusX-1Bk2
That's just playing if you ask me. I saw a video for this song the other day and nicked the bassline, wasn't too difficult, just repetative. It's in B, I know that, and he plays the verses between the second and fourth frets. The melody changes slightly from verse to verse. I don't think that his technique changes for that song, he just has quick fingers. The only real technique changes he's ever really incorporated is his use of chords. He doesn't really slap or walk. This is a good example melodic/rhythmic playing.
