elevenism
If we mean unique among their own catalog, the eponymous and first album, RUSH, has to take the cake. I mean, come on: it was Alex and Geddy and JOHN, influenced by Cream, aiming to sound like Zeppelin. That being said, I understand the votes for Caress of Steel, as, it was their first attempt at being seriously unique on PURPOSE. And, surely Didacts and Narpets is the most unique Rush SONG. Edit: but, I'd argue that CoS has quite a bit in common with Hemispheres and 2112. Edited June 12, 2021 by elevenism
mattroland76
While its not in my top 10 Rush albums list, I've always thought Snakes & Arrows was unique due to the huge role of acoustic instrumentation. And not just guitar, but also mandolin, mandola, bouzouki. Not to mention Geddy reintroducing the mellotron for the first time in how long? That's an instrument I wish they would have made more use of. Edited June 24, 2021 by mattroland76
