TNT on PMS
A 30 year old man married a 25 year old woman. She died at age 50 and her husband was so devastated that he cried for years. Ten years after he stopped crying, he died. If he had lived to be 80, how many years was he a widower?

rickyrob
There is a pole in a lake. One-half of the pole is in the ground (under the lake), another one-third of it is covered by water (the lake itself), and 8 ft is out of the water. What is the total length of the pole in ft? TNT on PMS
53 ft ?
endlesslymocking
48 1/2 or 3/6 in the ground 1/3 or 2/6 1/6 = 8ft 6*8= 48ft for teh entire pole
TNT on PMS
Fraction of pole in the ground = 1/2 Fraction of pole covered by water = 1/3 Fraction of pole in the ground and covered by water = 1/2 + 1/3 = (3 + 2)/6 = 5/6 Fraction of pole out of water = 1 - 5/6 = 1/6 one-sixth of the pole (out of water) is 8 ft. So, total length of pole = 53 ft.

POLE! PS I think you have to be both English, and a follower of football (that's REAL football) to understand this

Each monkey had 2 birds on its tail. How many animals were going to the water hole?
