Ancient Ways
Same thing happens every year. It's not new and it won't stop. The reason it won't stop is the coriolis effect. Edited September 7, 2017 by Ancient Ways
treeduck
I've already mentioned this a few times...
Lorraine
I read that Jose and Katia will probably go out to sea and are nothing to worry about. Let's hope the weathermen are right. Edited September 8, 2017 by Lorraine

Nate2112
Apologies, I saw in the Hurricane Irma thread nobody mentioned Katia.
Crimsonmistymemory
This is the height of activity for hurricane development in the Atlantic Basin & Gulf of Mexico. This is also a non El Nino year which means there is less shear from jet streams (that put a hurt on developing hurricanes) in the upper atmosphere. Scientifically hurricane are natures grand heat exchanger design. Effectively transferring heat build up from the ocean to atmosphere. It is just when these "maga" heat exchangers hit populated areas the results are often not so good. Hurricane season officially over November 30th. From here to then I think we will see a lot of activities.
